Our dog was alive when Hunter picked her up for board and train, and she was dead from being mauled when I picked her up. Do not trust that your baby will be taken care of at Thackston Farms. **Edit** I also want to point out that he hasn't responded to neither of mine or my husband's reviews, because he has no explanation or defense. He knows he's guilty of doing something he was specifically instructed not to do (boarding either of our dogs with ANY other dogs, including each other). I can't emphasize this enough that he cannot be trusted. It has been one year since his negligence took our sweet Chilly from us, and we will never stop sharing our terrible experience with Hunter Thackston. Response to your pathetic reply: Yes, YOU left them alone TOGETHER after being specifically instructed not to on several occasions. That was not an accident. That's a complete disregard to what you were told. My dogs had no issues with each other while at our house. My concern with them being together during boarding and training is because Millie can become reactive while boarding due to the stress of it. Again, that was explained to you, but you didn't follow simple instructions. I fully recognize that Millie could have been the instigator in this (which, again, is why I said to keep them separate), but she wasn't the only dog that attacked Chilly. The vet examined Chilly post-mortem and found several normal appearing dog bites with all 4 canines - Millie has been without her upper canines for at least 2 years. YOU failed to do what was asked of you, and now you're deflecting blame trying to claim "this was an accident" and that Millie is to blame for being the aggressor. My theory is that you tried to capitalize on it being a holiday and board more than what you had room for, and that is why you had multiple dogs in that big enclosed area together. My theory is also that if I hadn't have planned to stop by there that morning to bring Chilly's medicine, that you would never have told us that she was killed. You would probably claim Chilly had gotten out and couldn't be found. I could be wrong on my theories, because they are just that - theories. I haven't asked anyone to write any kind of review on your company. That is something they have chosen to do. I do, however, hope that your business does suffer because of the negligence you CHOSE to show my dogs, resulting in one of them being mauled to death. A few things I want to point out...first, you claim my dogs escaped the large fenced in area? Then how come when I got there and asked why both dogs were literally CAKED in mud, you said they were found fighting in the muddy area INSIDE THE LARGE FENCED IN AREA YOU NOW CLAIM THEY ESCAPED OUT OF? You also told me 2 dogs "somehow" broke into where my dogs were, so which is it? Did my dogs escape or did 2 other dogs break in their area? Second, I arrived at 8am that morning. You say you left them together too long? At what time did you put them together? And this was part of your "training"? Because it looked like you literally just rolled out of bed when I got there. Does this mean they were put in that fenced area overnight? If you were awake, how come you didn't hear this fighting going on, especially considering the house you live in is about 50 feet from this fenced in area? She was fairly stiff when I got there, so she'd been dead for around 1-2 hours, which suggests to me that they were put in that fenced area overnight. Third, you claim that Millie is a dangerous killer pit bull saved from a dog fighting ring, so you were aware that she had the potential to attack AND you were told not to put Chilly and Millie together, but you disregarded both of those things and left them unsupervised for an extended period of time. What part of that is an "accident"? You say we should accept and get over the fact that accidents happen. WHAT PART OF THIS WAS AN ACCIDENT? DO YOU SEE WHY YOU CANNOT BE TRUSTED?! *Since you have deleted your response to my review, I have added the screenshot.
