That's My Dog!

Sherry and the entire team at TMD are amazing. Each and every trainer, day camp teammate, kennel staff, and groomer always do the very best at what they do. My two dogs act like it’s a trip to Disneyland every time they have day camp, and we know when we travel that they are the best hands for boarding. Shiloh and Jade work magic for when it’s time to get “the girls” all clean and pretty! TMD have helped us become better dog parents and I am so grateful to have a place like this in Dubuque.

Highly recommend! My dog Lucy completed the 1 week board and train in April and our lives have been so much more enjoyable! Today she got her nails trimmed by Shilo. This is Lucy’s 3rd nail trim and she’s still nervous & unsure of what is going on and Shilo did a fantastic job being patient with the pups wiggles and nerves. I will continue to bring Lucy back for all the things That’s My Dog! offers!

My vet recommended That’s My Dog! after noticing my puppy was struggling to socialize properly in public. With a large-breed dog who would grow quickly, I knew that if I didn’t address these behavior concerns early, I’d be doing her a disservice for the rest of her life. I reached out immediately, and That’s My Dog! was incredible about getting her in right away. As puppy owners, it’s our responsibility to give them the best life possible, and I absolutely needed help laying the right foundation. I signed her up for the two-week boarding program, and she came back a completely different dog—in the best way. Confident, obedient, well-mannered… everything you hope for in a companion. It was worth every single penny. She’s now 11 months old, and I recently brought her back for a special Christmas photo shoot. I was shocked—in the best way—to see how well behaved she was, even though she hadn’t been in the facility since she was a tiny puppy. And the sweetest part? All the trainers still remembered her. That speaks volumes. They truly care about what they do, and I would recommend their services to anyone looking to invest in their dog’s future.

Nothing by high fives for ALL the staff at That’s My Dog!! I had our doodle groomed today and it was the first time with Shiloh. I’d been taking her to a different place before. I picked her up and she looks GORGEOUS!! Shiloh is SO sweet natured and calm. Jade, who was working at the front desk is equally as lovely. If anyone thinks that dog grooming is all puppies, rainbows and sprinkles, it’s NOT! It’s incredibly difficult, physically demanding, takes GREAT skill, patience and true dedication. Every dog is unique and often not thrilled about getting groomed until they get used to it. When I picked up our girl today, she was CALM, relaxed and happy!! Sometimes it seems like groomers are wrestling squirrels because as all beloved dogs will do, they wiggle, squirm and want to play. It’s a very underrated profession but certainly NOT under appreciated by US! Our doodle went through the That’s My Dog 6 week training course with instructors Amanda and Traci a few months ago. Meeting the owner Sherry, was wonderful. She explained the programs in detail and is a delight. We now attend the weekly “polishing” classes that are part of the training pkg. Traci has been on maternity leave but is equally as gifted as Amanda and they make a terrific team. Amanda has such an incredible relationship with every dog in the program. She remembers their names, ages, owners names, and all the dogs personalities. It’s astounding! There are different dogs every week. The dogs listen to and trust Amanda. When I pull up to the building and we are walking in, our doodle understands it’s “school time”. She clearly pays attention and behaves so well PLUS she loves going! That is what brings us the most joy. She has friends there and we learn something new every week. I would HIGHLY recommend taking your dogs there for training. It’ll be the best investment for a life of happiness for your pup and your family! She feels loved by the staff. When we walk in they know my name and hers.
