What ages of dogs can you train at The Academy for Canine Behavior and Training?
We train dogs at any age, from young puppies to senior dogs. Private lessons are open to dogs of all ages, and we tailor each program to your dog’s age, breed, and individual behavior needs. For our Board & Train program, dogs must be at least 4 months old. Beyond that, there is no dog too old for training — we work with adolescent, adult, and senior dogs every day. If your dog needs early socialization, obedience, or a full behavior reset, we’ll help you choose the right program for their stage of life.

How much does board and train cost in Tupelo?
Our Board & Train programs start at $1,820 for basic training. Pricing increases based on the level of training you choose. We also create custom programs when a dog requires additional time or specialized behavioral work. Do you accept puppies in daycare in Tupelo?
Yes, we welcome puppies 4 months and older into our daycare program as long as they are appropriately vaccinated. At this age, puppies are developmentally ready for structured socialization, clear boundaries, and calm play around other dogs. Our trained staff ensures a safe, supervised environment so young dogs build confidence and good habits from the start. If you’re unsure whether your puppy is ready, we’re happy to help you decide.

I can't speak highly enough of The Academy!!! The trainers were so knowledgeable and patient with my dog! From answering questions to daily videos, the level of professionalism is unmatched! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to have my puppy trained here! She is definitely a different girl and her training will open up a whole new world for us both!

I brought my border collie, Cruise, to TACBT when he was only 10 weeks old. I have owned several breeds of dogs and have obedience trained all of them myself. I knew a border collie is the smartest dog on the planet but can also be challenging if not handled correctly. A friend of mine highly recommended The Academy, Bryan, Nick and Madi. I was greeted at the door and Nick spent about an hour with me just discussing training, puppy imprinting and their philosophy on how to properly train a dog. I learned more in that session than you can imagine. More than I thought I knew about dog training. Let me also say that the TACBT is one of the best run businesses I have ever seen. I still tell them all the time that I would trust them to keep my grandchildren. Seriously. Cruise is now 8 months old. He has been through their program of Basic Obedience, Enhanced Obedience and just finished Advanced Obedience. Now at only 8 months old, I take Cruise everywhere I go off leash. Little league ballgames,, stores and even restaurants and he never makes a mistake. I’m able to invite friends into our home and put Cruise on “Place” and he will lay down while we talk and have dinner. No jumping or pacing. My only regret is that I did not do this with every dog I have owned. We are very, very fortunate to have TACBT in Tupelo. It doesn’t matter if you start out with a young puppy or have an older dog that you have to put up every time someone comes to your home. TACBT can help your dog and help you. I’ve seen it up close. Thank you to Nick who personally trained Cruise and sent me videos everyday on his progress. And to Bryan who always takes time when I run by to answer any questions I may have. And to the whole staff who genuinely care. I give my highest recommendation to TACBT.
Bryan did a great job with my pup. They communicated the entire time and kept me updated throughout. This was my first experience with a dog trainer and I will be using them again.
