The Ace Dog Trainer

My husband and I brought our german shorthair pointer puppy home at 7 weeks, our fourth pointer over 25 years. She was easily overstimulated and impossible to connect to. All of my dog training experience was not working and our vet recommended Debra. It is amazing to see the difference in our now 6 month old pup. She has bought into our leadership and is a pleasure. Debra's training method connects with the dog's instinctual behavior that makes us better owners and our dog a happy member of the family. Debra is truly a one-of-a-kind treasure!

My family and I welcomed a Golden Retriever, Rosy, into our family a little over two years ago. We noticed a few months ago she was acting over-protective to a point that worried us. A friend of mine referred Debra and we began lessons right away. It was amazing that even after the first lesson, I saw the dog Rosy could be. Since our time with Debra, Rosy has become a more calm, and trusting dog with family and neighbors. She helped Rosy, but essentially, taught my husband and I the right way to do things. I am no longer nervous to go outside with her if someone is walking past or we see a neighbor. She is a different dog, a happier dog now. She taught us to be more confident, and in turn Rosy is more confident. Its been priceless and would recommend Ace Dog Training, Debra, to anyone. I would have loved to have known her when we first got Rosy, but am so glad we found out about her when we did. I am about to finish the lessons, but hope we can stay in touch with Debra and bring Rosy over from time to time. Thank you Debra, Rosy and family!!!!

Like others, I came to Debra after training with others, (individual, small group, large group) It "failed" my large, rambunctious black Labrador retriever, Morgan. I was referred to her by my dentist, a happy, former client. I am so happy that I met and agreed to Morgan having Debra as his trainer. She really has an incredible gift to understand, train and work with dogs. She believes and bases her approach on understanding there is a different way to train and work with dogs that is so much easier and natural than harsh methods and treat/food based training. It really works and is so much less frustrating and fun. Really. More importantly, she understands people and how the relationship between dog and human can and should work. I have learned so much not only about myself and my relationship with Morgan and why things "were not working." It was difficult to take Morgan walking because he would pull, tug and not mind. If we ran into other dogs, he became overly excited, pulled more, barked and acted crazy. As he grew to voer a hundred pounds, I just stopped taking him. Also, he would jump up on people and has knocked myself and sister on our behinds! Hurtful and unacceptable! It was difficult to impossible to have people over to the house because he would jump for attention and even sometimes jump on them. After 4 weeks with Debra, we’re able to have people over and have our dog lay down, stay and are able to walk without pulling or misbehaving. Debra was able to address all of his worst behavior issues and I was forced to see how I was actually creating some of this, so she trained both of us, so to speak. Morgan is a well behaved dog now that wants to do things, rather than being forced or coerced. Debra has been able to help me with other dog issues I had with Morgan, including finally getting a suitable food that solved his shedding and dry skin issues and getting him healthy and losing weight. She is a remarkable lady in addition to being a superb trainer. I wish I had met her two years ago! I’ve come such a long way in my relationship with Morgan dog thanks to Debra. As long as I keep my end of the bargain, being a calm, clear and confident leader, Morgan responds well. He does not even seem like the same dog. When he slips, I don't overreact and freak, I merely reassert my training and give him a clear command of what I want and he responds willingly and beautifully. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a trainer and appreciate all that she has done to help our family. I do not think there is a better, more caring canine trainer. Cannot Recommend Debra and her staff at ACE enough!! Deb has a true gift. Not only does she help your 4 legged baby, but she truly cares about creating a bond between you and your dog that just makes life easier and better for everyone. We have a 2 year old 90lb American bull dog who is a handful to say the least! From pulling on the leash, jumping on people, and even showing some major signs of aggression. everyone who knows our dog is still in shock of how much Deb impacted his behavior in just 4 weeks. If your on the fence about it I'm telling you bringing my dog here was one of the best decisions I have made for him and our family! I now walk him on a lose leash and don't have to worry at all, he sits whenever we come home, and we now can have people over without being nervous of what he might do because he respects us and will ask us what to do instead of feel the need to protect us.
