The Balanced K-9

Our one year old love of a dog went to Balanced K9 for 3 Weeks. We just had a baby and so we felt that it was crucial that she learned basic obedience training and how to walk better on a leash. Since we got her at the start of the pandemic we never really had a chance to properly train her and we figured it might be easier to send her somewhere where they can lay the foundation of the training. That’s just what they did! Our dog is so much better now. She walks great on a leash and I can actually walk her with stroller/the baby and she doesn’t pull it all. She responds to all of the command words they taught her. Including: place, break, sit, stay, down, heel. They introduced an E collar (harmless just helpful) to help train her and we’ve been using it at home and it is super helpful! I don’t even think we will need to call her for very much longer. I loved that I could see updates on Instagram! She had so much fun playing with other dogs and got so much exercise. I’d say it was more like a vacation! We are so happy to have our trained girl back home :) thanks to Balanced K9! Highly recommend

As the definition of a “crazy dog mom” I did my research when it came time to finding who I would trust with my fur babies. I have a female blue nose Pitbull puppy and a 7 year old Pit/Pointer mix who are officially two of the best dogs in the world thanks to Luciana and Chuck! When The Balanced K9 answered my e-mail and addressed each and every question in detail, I knew I wanted to talk to them further. We agreed that the 3-week board and train program would be best for my puppy, Rosie and the 2-week behavior modification would be best for my older dog Gunnar. Due to the pandemic and how much life changed for the pups and I, all training we had been working on came to a halt and I found my puppy was regressing. Her recall was terrible, and as an outdoor lover this was not okay. My older dog Gunnar started viciously pulling on the leash when the puppy came into the mix and walks were no longer enjoyable. Not only did The Balanced K9 stay in communication with me about their progress while they were being trained, they let me and my boyfriend visit and have a practice session with Rosie when we were dropping of Gunnar! I could go on and on about how happy my family and I are with the results of our dogs. Luciana and Chuck demonstrated utmost compassion with their training and treated my dogs like their own. They went out of their way to help us continue training on our own and we are still in contact. We all live an amazing life! My puppy is now an ESA and will be coming with me on her first adventure on a plane to go hiking in Arizona in the fall. This has been a dream of mine and would not have been possible without The Balanced K9!10/10

Wonderful training. Luciana really understands dogs and is very kind and patient and a great doggy leader. You can tell she loves what she does. My girl learned so much in the time she was there. I also like that the dogs are in a home environment and are trained in real world situations at home and in the community. And that they are trained with other dogs as well as alone. Great socialization. And they are very helpful when you have questions after your dog goes home. I did the training there and have boarded when I travel and will do so again.

I am so grateful for having the opportunity to work with Luciana and Chuck. Our 4 year old border collie came to them for the 6-week Intensive Behavior Modification Program, with extreme resource guarding, fear based aggression, a general lack of discipline, and a bite history. It speaks to Chuck and Luciana's expertise and experience in dog training that they would be willing to accept a dog with this rap sheet. During his 6-week program, Luciana and Chuck provided weekly updates and videos showing our dog's progress. These videos showed how methodical and diligent the staff were in correcting our dogs behavior. When our dog came back home, we saw an immense improvement in his calmness and obedience, and we couldn't be more pleased with how much progress he's made. Chuck and Luciana also gave us detailed instructions on how to maintain the progress our dog's made and help improve further. Luciana and Chuck are professionals at what they do, and their passion and talent for dog training is exemplified with how our dog turned out.

We could not be happier with the results from the 3 week program with The Balanced K-9! It was worth every penny and we can’t wait for our dog to go back for boarding when we are on vacation. Our 7 month old Goldendoodle puppy Hercules, has always been a sweet boy, but he got so big so fast and we let some bad habits develop. He was also our first family dog so the overall training at home wasn’t our strength. He lacked self control around other people and dogs, and at 60+ pounds going for walks became painful and stressful. While he could do basic commands, none were reliable if there was a distraction present, and his recall was non-existent. We don’t have a fenced in yard so the e collar portion of the training was key for us. It’s now been two weeks since he’s been back home and we continue to be amazed. We have the fun loving, well-behaved dog we always wanted. Chuck and Luciana were born to do this, they have such a gentle way about them and how they interact with the dogs. Equally as important as the training for our dog, was the two hour training Chuck and Luciana did with our family when it was time for Hercules to come home. They went through everything he learned and for each skill had us practice. They even made a house call visit a few days after graduation to check on him and go over a few more items. They have reiterated several times if we have any questions or need any support they are available. While this is a lot of money and we missed our puppy very much, we looked at this as a long term investment for the life of Hercules. We are so thrilled with this program and love getting compliments on our well-behaved puppy!
