Joe is amazing! I had my 11 month old Aussie (Jackson) stay for the board and train because I wanted him to generalize his skills, have lots of exposure to different people and dogs and places, and work on impulse control, loose leash walking, and stop jumping on people and couches. The Bark Stop did not disappoint! I received tons of photos and example videos for how to positively reinforce my pup’s skills and could easily tell Joe really cared for my pup. Jackson had the best time while all my expectations were met. He joined training sessions with other dogs, went to various places, and could off leash walk! When he came home, there was noticeable difference in his ability to stay in a down and he can now watch calmly instead of getting into everyone’s business all the time :) Leash walking is a much more enjoyable experience for both of us as Jackson now understands the leash as a communication tool, not to pull against it. I highly, highly recommend- Joe went above and beyond for my dog!

We had our first session with Joe today for our nervous/reactive Frenchie. Before we even met, we filled out a very thorough intake form and had a phone call to go over concerns and goals. My dog was immediately nervous when we arrived as she is with any new place. Within minutes, she went from shaking to relaxed, and was listening to commands and playing with Joe. I appreciated his gentle approach and avoidance of any punitive training techniques. Although it was only our first session we got some great tips and advice on how to better handle her and next steps. By the end of the session our dog didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend Joe based on our first visit!

Joe has been AMAZING with our Rottweiler, Khaleesi! We’ve been working with him for a little over a month. Khaleesi is usually wary of strangers, but she now considers Joe one of her BFFs - she gets so excited when we get close to The Bark Stop and is always so eager to see him! Joe has helped Khaleesi so much with her reactivity toward other dogs, and we’ve already seen a huge improvement. He always listens to all of my questions, never makes me feel bad for asking, and is always willing to help and go the extra mile. He even follows up after our sessions with pictures and videos, which we absolutely love. Not only has he helped Khaleesi, but he’s also helped her mom and dad (my husband and I!). He’s shared so much helpful knowledge, tips, and tricks that truly make a difference. We really wanted to find a trainer who shared our beliefs (force-free), and we are so happy we chose Joe. We had an incredible experience with Joe from Bark Stop through his stay-and-train program. From start to finish, Joe kept us involved with daily pictures, videos, and detailed updates about our dog’s progress. The videos weren’t just fun to watch—they were informative and truly educational, helping us learn along the way too. Joe also went above and beyond by taking our dog on real-life outings in the community, including stores, parks, and dog parks, which made a huge difference in building confidence and reliable behavior in everyday situations. Before training, walks were miserable and exhausting. Now, our dog is walking off leash, calm and responsive. Evenings used to be pure chaos in our house, and now he can settle, relax, and actually be part of the family. Joe is patient, knowledgeable, and clearly gifted at what he does.
