The Beauty of Dogs

Finding Rebecca and the Beauty of Dogs was a Godsend! She took ample time with the initial intake, seeking input from me regarding our 6 month old GSP’s home set up, daily routine, and behavioral issues. Rebecca addressed all my concerns and gave concrete ways to not only manage bad habits, but more importantly foster optimal behavior. Our puppy and the whole household is more controlled and calm now! She is kind and really “gets” dogs. Rebecca is a patient teacher who seems to truly love her mission. We brought our dog, Dahlia, to Rebecca after having difficulty managing her on walks and we wanted to learn how to work through Dahlia’s “big” emotions. Rebecca was very kind and understanding, but also clear in her instruction. Rebecca took the time to explain the course structure and broke down the content and techniques in ways we could easily understand. She met us and Dahlia where we were at with the Essentials Program, and because of her help, we were better able to understand why Dahlia has strong reactions and the steps we needed to take to start reinforcing the behavior we wanted to see. With Rebecca’s guidance, Dahlia made significant improvements and we were able to help her work toward being able to better self-regulate and manage her stress levels. It was simple to set up the sessions and Rebecca was very easy to work with if scheduling conflicts came up. Several years ago I was introduced to the TBTE approach to dog training through a local friend, who subsequently led me to Rebecca & The Beauty Of Dogs. I was very impressed with Rebecca’s warm and professional command of the protocols and her ability to communicate the many lessons & techniques, that we as dog owners, must learn to successfully turn puppies into dependably responsive adults. These are lessons (with great follow-up documentation) that WE as owners have to master and repeatedly employ for success. So far, so good. As the owner of a Whippet (a sight-hound), one of the biggest challenges (in the outside world) is the recall command, as sight hounds while affectionate, can be very independent. Over the initial course of 7 sessions, I have learned how to walk, train, feed and play with my 6 month old puppy and I am very pleased with his and MY progress. While his responsiveness is not yet 100%, it has improved dramatically; it's a work in progress that's definitely moving in the right direction. Following each class was a very valuable “socialization” session, usually with 3 - 5 other dogs of similar age. Rebecca leads these group sessions with equal command watching and noting the personalities of the various participants and explaining their interactions - both good and bad. These sessions between different sizes and breeds are very helpful and help with a sense of comfort when engaging with other people and their pets - especially in public places. With big dogs and small, I was extremely impressed with Rebecca’s ease, abilities and obvious expertise in controlling, communicating and guiding our dogs to becoming responsive and responsible companions.
