My 6 month German shepherd puppy is very timid around strangers (we think his last owners abused him) and other dogs and will whine and almost throw up from fear. Is he still welcome here since it might be harder for him to be with other dogs/people?
Yes! They really understand dogs, and how their brains work, and will help you to not only understand your dog's behavior better, but IF you put in the time and work, will help you strengthen the bond and trust between you and your dog.

Yes! I would highly recommend a behavior consult and they will recommend the best next steps for your pup. We have a fearful dog and they are helpful and caring. But, also expect to do some hard work to teach your pup and yourselves how to communicate and deal with those fears. They will help you do that work, for sure. Good luck!!

This center focuses on the relationship with owner and the dog. Not dog with other dog relationships. They are also very experienced with behavior needs and training to help. :) see what a behavioral consult can help you with :)

Did an on-site consult with my dog, purchased the 10-pack of dog behavior days and also got an in-home behavior training.
Overall the experience was ok but I was only able to use 4 of my 10 lessons (covid, my dog's surgery, travel...) and ultimately we moved away before I could use the rest. What is odd is that the Canine Center doesn't prompt you to schedule and use them. And they also don't issue refunds. I don't recommend that you buy the 10-pack. It's a great money-maker for them especially if the person can't use them all. No notable improvements with my dog in those 4 sessions, I suppose it wasn't long enough.

Brought my dog here for the group Canine Good Citizen classes. The trainers are awesome! Very knowledgeable and hands on. They took time to work with everyone in the group. My dog had a lot of fun and learned a bunch of great puppy manners. These guys are wonderful and have a fantastic agility setup as well. Also, the field is lit at night which means, you can avoid that daytime heat.

Wonderful team working together to teach owners how to form a stronger relationship without pets. The youth camp was terrific, featuring both training, guest speakers, crafts and hanging out time under the oaks.

I researched and talked to many dog training centers in Austin to work with Our rescue Husky mix who has serious separation anxiety and under-socialization issues. We’re lucky to find the Canine center and work with Curtis. The office is really helpful, very reasonable prices (they even offer discount for rescues) and Curtis is the best. He was right on with the diagnosis for our dog, his training program and we have been making great progress since working with Curtis. I love the fact that Canine really cares about your dogs and you, not just money like most of the other places I interviewed.

Left two phone messages in order to arrange and schedule a training session… No one ever returned my calls. Pretty disappointing, so maybe it wouldn’t have been a right fit anyway.
