About The Capable Canine
"Training with Compassion" We use clicker training using 100 percent force free methods. We teach classes, private lessons and day school. Group classes run through puppy, beginner, intermediate, CGC/therapy and limited service dog training. We also consult with clients on behaviors such as jumping up, pulling leash, reactivity, resource guarding, fear-based behaviors, potty training, recall, and many other behaviors. We pride ourselves on being members of The Pet Professional Guild, The Association of Force Free Trainers. Instructors are required to be certified through The Certification Council for Professional Trainers (CPDT-KA). The use of shock, e-collar, prong, choke collars is NEVER USED by our trainers or at our facilities.

We have been training with Jessica for over a year, since we got out Bernedoodle puppy Barney. We have done weekly privates, since our pup was particularly strong willed and we enrolled in multiple group lesions at The Capable Canine for further training and socialization. Jessica is an amazing trainer who has a natural connection with our furry babies. Barney goes crazy when he knows we are on our way to her school or when she pulls up the driveway at our house. This Covid life has been difficult without Jessica... we can’t wait to resume working with her . Now that Barney is older, we love Jessica’s trick and conditioning and agility classes !!! As an aside, we are from NYC and have worked with many trainers/schools with our various furry babies. Jessica and her programs at the Capable Canine rival none!
Jessica is very professional and yet has a personal and spirited personality that will make you feel welcome and confident in your dog. She has an extensive amount of knowledge and is more than happy to share her expertise with you. You will leave feeling confident and excited to conquer the world with your furry friend.

I had the most amazing experience. My pup and I really bonded during the puppy class and my father who dog sits for me took my pup to a mind tricks stimulating class and the time you spend with Jessica and your pup really helps you understand how a canine feels, reacts, how important positive reinforcement training really is. Jessica is passionate and experienced and it’s worth investment!
