“Money well spent!” That’s what my husband said when i showed him all that our one year old German Shepherd Bodhi had learned after just five lessons! Our trainer, August, has been so thorough, clear, and so well-versed in canine behaviors and psychology it has made the whole training experience enriching for our whole family. It is such an advantage to know WHY our pup does things and HOW to let him know you are his leader. I will recommend August to everyone I meet and have no problem knowing that they too will say “money well spent!” As August told us, “we are not training him on the e-collar to punish him, we are just trying to make his world bigger.” And it has! No more boring backyard! Let’s go to the park with the kids and Home Depot on the way home, Bodhi!

We took our Labradoodle and Great Pyr/Husky mix here for private training with August, to address specific behaviors each were exhibiting (as rescues). My experience began with Sandra, who listened to me ramble on for almost an hour about the issues we were facing, having introduced a 3rd rescue dog into our family. Sandra helped me streamline which program would best suit our family's needs, and the process to sign up and get started was simple. We got into training very quickly. That is when we met August, who is AMAZING! Friendly, professional, dependable, caring, and a TOP NOTCH trainer who truly understands how to work with different dog breeds and personalities! We have seen major improvements in our boys' behavior and we also now understand more about the role we play in that. As a side note: we had taken our 3 year-old Labradoodle to 2 other programs (in a different state - not OLK9) prior, for major anxiety issues, and not had the results or breakthroughs we have had since starting with OLK9 in Birmingham, and with August, specifically. I trust her judgements and advice implicitly. Not to mention, our boys are ridiculously excited every time they see her! I will never look elsewhere for training, and highly recommend August, and this program as a whole.

My year old German Shepard, Kuma, did the two-week-board-training with Brandy. She is an amazing trainer who is also a nurse and a mom, among other things. I brought my dog in because I was struggling with getting him to listen to me. After two weeks with Brandy he is calmer, better behaved, and he listens better! Brandy even sat down and talked with me to make sure that I understood what Kuma needs from me in order to have a cohesive relationship with my dog. I highly recommend! I am pleased beyond words. Already purchased advanced training lessons for him so our bond can become even stronger. 10/10 would do again.
