The Cooperative Dog

We went to Vera for help with our food aggressive dog, Sully, as we were out of options and he was escalating in his aggression. Vera was helpful, patient, knowledgeable, and flexible as she has helped us continue to change Sully’s relationship with food and educate us on how to best understand and navigate the process. The dynamic of our family and relationship with Sully had changed in all the best ways thanks to Vera!

We brought our puppy at 12 weeks old to Vera’s puppy class. We loved her and the class so much that she has since completed two of the additional Obedience classes. It has been an integral part of her training and socialization. Vera is patient, knowledgeable, and dedicated to her work. Her wisdom goes beyond training, she teaches and prepares you and your dog for real life situations. Our puppy has gotten tremendously better on leash and listening both at home and in public thanks to Vera. I look forward to continuing to watch her grow and work with Vera. Highly recommend!

We can’t thank Vera enough! When our rescued retired lab dog first came home, we contacted Vera to help us train our dog to become a CGC, more importantly, to be more comfortable with the world outside of the lab. After few group classes, we saw significant improvement on his separation anxiety issue, and he has become much more disciplined and confident! Vera offers both indoor and outdoor classes, which I think it is very helpful, they are also reasonably priced. Vera had a consultation with us before signing up and would always give enough attention and instruction to every single dog in class, and chat with the parents to see if there is any question. Highly recommend!

We had an excellent experience working with Vera at the Cooperative Dog. We participated in both private and group lessons with our newly adopted 1 year old dog. We learned a lot during each session and covered things like basic commands, jumping, leash pulling and how to get along with cats. Vera shares her extensive knowledge and skills which makes each session informative and fun for both human and dog. I have recommended Vera to friends of mine and would certainly go back in the future.

Vera is an amazing person and is great at her craft. You can see that she has much experience with the way she handled our class of 6 dogs — all with different personalities and quirks — with ease. Even in a group setting, she is able to identify the strengths and needs of each dog, and adapts the plan and advice accordingly. Much of the training was actually for me; I learned how to become a better dog parent and how to set up my dog for success. If you listen to her advice and make sure to follow up with the lessons at home, you’ll be sure to have a happy, cooperative dog in no time!
