I reached out to Dom to work with my 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier Mozzie. I was having a lot of trouble walking him with out him being reactive towards other dogs, pulling and being anxious. Dom and I did 6 sessions and I instantly noticed a change after the 1st session we did. He gave me the tools-using a clicker to redirect my dogs attention, and the confidence-for my dog and myself to be able to walk with out issues. I cannot thank him enough for helping me with Mozzie. He was very patient, explained everything clearly, answered all my questions was very flexible, and gave me all the tools I needed to make walks a successful experience for Mozzie. After our last session Mozzie was a completely different dog. He was confident, would give me eye contact, and just seemed happier walking. I was also able to feel more confident in my abilities to be the leader when walking. I would recommend him to anyone looking to train their dog. Thank you Dom!

In response to your below response. The laws in Germany are stricter for dog training, pain is not allowed. Ex prong collars are illegal. So your “ coming to America “ story only means you wouldn’t be allowed to use pain in dog training where you came from. Where I experienced you was not in person but via (bad) information you put on the web while claiming to be a behaviourist. So called “balanced training” ( great ring to it btw) is very commonly debated amongst trainers yet one a behaviourist would be crystal clear about. Secondly. The internet allows you to influence people all over the world. This is the problem with bad information and trust being given when you claim you are a scientist/behaviorist with no credentials to back you just opinion. I went on Pinterest to get some tips for a client on dogs who dig under fences and your article, the one talking about “ scolding” by a so “behaviourist came up. So I did read and experience your point of view. You are a trainer with opinions a behaviourist, science, doesn’t back. You may have the best of intentions but it’s not a matter of opinion. Facts are facts and science does not support your belief in negative reinforcement or positive punishment's. You can’t claim to be an scientist and reject science. I understand it doesn’t sell as well and there are fewer quick fixes but it does not change the hard facts. Most frustrated dog owners will never understand what this means but you do. And like I said in the beginning. I truly give this review with a heavy heart. Because I am not after attacking someone’s small business at all. On the contrary I support those who support dogs and peoples relationships with them all the way. But the well-being of dogs everywhere matter more to me than your business and I believe it should to you too. So pointing out you are scientifically wrong to suggest scolding while claiming to be a scientist is necessary in my estimation. You are leading with incorrect information and teaching pet owners to punish pets when science says it’s not a good idea, all the while claiming to be a scientist. Behaviourists have many YEARS of studying under their belt and they don’t support “scolding”. At all. I am glad to hear you genuinely care about dogs, I don’t doubt that. I just hope that this review inspires you to learn a little more, and perhaps to steer your business in a manner that truly does reflect science and a love for dogs. No pain and a willingness to learn in an effort to support pet owners and dogs the very best you can. An actual behaviourist would be sporting a MS, MA, or PhD degree and would NEVER recommend anything but positive reinforcement because that is what the science supports. You may be great with dogs and you can certainly call yourself a “trainer” but to identify as a behaviourist is not right. A qualified scientist would not support “balanced” training, negative punishments are not scientifically backed. Be a dog trainer with an opinion but please stay in your lane. You are not a scientist/behaviorist. They have a very high level of education and support science. Aka positive reinforcement all the way. Giving you a low rating doesn’t feel good but it does feel necessary. I do it with a heavy heart. I believe you owe it to dogs, and their owners to not mistaken your opinions as scientific facts. The science of learning does not support using fear, pain or intimidation in any way. On another note. All of the dogs in your pictures look genuinely happy so you’re obviously doing lots right! Dominik is amazing! We reached out to Dominik to work on our 4 year old dog Forest’s leash pulling. Forest struggled walking on leash, would pull and lunge, and was hard to manage on walks. We did three sessions and it has completely changed Forest’s behavior. We saw the change immediately within the first session. Dominik gave us the tools, technique, and confidence to transform how Forest walks. Now walks are enjoyable and Forest is waking like a pro! Our golden retriever mix, Ace, turns 6 years old this year and we never thought we’d see the progress that we’ve made with Dominik. We naively believed that we couldn’t teach an older dog new tricks, but we were finally ready to confide in a professional. It’s been night and day since our six sessions with Dom and the changes we’ve seen in our dog. There’s a reason he’s so booked up! He’s worth the wait. We primarily wanted to work on leash reactivity towards other dogs, walking better and less excitability when greeting guests. Dom provided us the appropriate training tools, commands, handling, and tips that were catered to our dog’s needs. He educated us on transitioning from harness to collar, proper leash handling/communication and using a place mat. He provided a lot of insight on Ace’s behaviors and why he does certain things that we’ve allowed him to do. Now after working with Dom I am much more confident and comfortable walking out knowing that I am equipped with the right knowledge and skills to help my dog. I can’t recommend him enough. He was communicative, flexible and thorough with his explanations. He also had some great stories to share and hilarious analogies that really added to the sessions. Thank you Dom!
