The Dog Clicker is an in home dog training service that prioritizes building trust to fortify relationships and never using aversive training methods. Certified as a Professional Dog Trainer certifications; Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) which focuses on marker training for teaching basic behaviors, Family Dog Mediator (FDM), which uses the L.E.G.S. model (Learning, Environment, Genes, and Self) to understand dog behavior from an ethological perspective and completion of the Aggression in Dogs Master course and workshops instructed by Michael Shikashio to understand how to effectively and humanely modify aggressive, reactive and problem behaviors.

John has been incredibly helpful with my dog, Charm, who has severe anxiety. From day one, he developed a rapport, respectfully meeting her wherever she was on that particular day, and modifying her training in the moment as needed. She learned to trust him and he succeeded in getting her to achieve more than I ever thought was possible. John was also supportive on my end, talking through countless strategies, and sharing his expertise, helping me navigate circumstances that were not only triggering for her, but also stressful for me as well. I highly recommend John - Charm and I are so appreciative of his help!

John did a great job with our pup. She is a wonderful dog, but gets easily stressed when people come into the house. John taught us some techniques that are helping with this and other listening skills. John built a great rapport with our dog and she looked forward to all his visits.

We reached out to John to help work on our puppy’s mild reactivity and leash work. After just 6 sessions we can definitely see a huge improvement in Mickey’s ability to walk outside and in public spaces with other dogs around, making walks much more pleasant and enjoyable. John was an great trainer not just for the dog, but for us as well, helping coach us during sessions, giving us exercises we could do on our own time to reinforce training, and tailored his sessions to our pup’s needs.

We had a great experience with John! Our rescue dog was very nervous and wouldn’t even go more than a few feet into our yard. John helped so much that our dog was running around the yard after one session. He even brought over his dog to help me understand cues from my dog and when to encourage him without making his anxiety worse. Cannot recommend enough! Thanks John!
