The DogFather – Dog Trainer

My dog, Laika, was having issues with her I interactions with small dogs and children. Jose was able to fix that as well as take care of several unwanted behaviors. I used to dread walking her, but now we have no issues. I feel fully confident that Laika will have no issues and she actually listens to me when there are distractions. She is able to play with children without me having to worry. I didn't think it would be possible, but Jose gave us back the dog I always thought she could be.

José is amazing to work with! He listened to my concerns with my pups and addressed them appropriately. In addition, he gave me tips and tricks to continue to work on at home to ensure my pups keep up with their training. If you have behavioral issues or just want to get better at leash training or other things, he’s the one to call! It also is great that he treats your pups as if they were his own, makes me feel like I have a friend that just happens to be a trainer and is helping me out. Highly recommend!

Leaving baby Ella there was truly the BEST decision ever!! I was honestly so happy and at peace the entire time because I could tell she was being loved and cared for like she was family. I received updates on her, pictures, and little check-ins that made me smile so much while I was away. Ella was fed, cozy, comfortable, and sooo happy the whole stay! She also had the best time playing with all her little doggy friends which made it even sweeter. You can genuinely tell there is so much love, care, and attention given to every single dog there. Overall, such an AMAZING experience from start to finish!! I’m so grateful and if I ever go out of town again, baby Ella will absolutely be staying there again!! Highly highly recommend

High praise to The DogFather!! The name is so fitting because he is the real deal! I’ll elaborate for you… I’ve always wanted an Afghan Hound and was absolutely determined to get one. Despite my wife’s insistence and constant reminders of the issues that come with the breed, I decided to get one. How hard could it really be, right? I was wrong. I don’t use this lightly, but she was the worst. Sasha only listened to commands on her own terms, which was essentially never. She did whatever she wanted whenever she wanted. I felt like I had zero control. I couldn’t let her off the leash because she was so unpredictable. Not only would she disobey a basic command, but she would act like she didn’t even hear me. Completely ignore me. Every time we left to go somewhere, she destroyed something. Every single time. She would bark at anything, everything, and nothing. She would scratch at doors, dig holes in rugs, and chew all things wooden. She tested our patience daily. My wife wanted to get rid of her, especially after she chewed the leg on my wife’s antique chair. I turned to online videos, discussion groups, AI chatbots, and even Reddit (yikes), but nothing helped. Teach her a basic command? Nope. Maybe some form of house training? Forget about it. I knew we couldn’t continue living this way, but I didn’t want to get rid of her. So, I finally decided that I needed the help of a professional. I knew it would take a special person to train my Sasha and that we needed a top-tier expert. We live in Houston, TX, but we were willing to travel for the right trainer. Especially after learning that choosing the wrong trainer could damage her confidence, shut her down emotionally, and ultimately make things worse. I couldn’t imagine her being worse than what we were already experiencing and definitely didn’t want to find out. I read hundreds of reviews for trainers all across Texas and in a few other states. I spoke with a couple dozen trainers. Most of the trainers were hesitant on training her and some flat out refused, but not The DogFather. He didn’t hesitate when I told him the breed. He confidently stated that he could train her and even sounded excited by the opportunity to work with her. In addition to his confidence, he was so easy to communicate with. When I got off the phone, I told my wife that we’ve finally found the one! Jose offered to come to Houston since he has clients here, but we elected to make the drive to Laredo. Let me say, the drive was worth every second!! We left Sasha with him for 21-days. Nevertheless, Jose stayed in constant communication by providing us updates on her progress. He even sent us videos illustrating how she was improving. When we picked her up, her behavior had been completely transformed! She seemed like an entirely different dog. Now, we’re back in Houston and she’s so well-behaved! She obeys commands, she’s house trained, she no longer tears up our house, and we’re comfortable when we let her off the leash. A huge sigh of relief. We can finally start living again and doing all the things you want to do with your dog, all thanks to The DogFather! Jose was so patient with Sasha (and me and my wife), he used positive-reinforcement, he was calm and confident with her, and he was able to be flexible and adapt his training to her personality. He treated Sasha with respect and as if she were one of his dogs. You can immediately tell that he truly loves dogs, and he handles them with so much skill and care. Would I recommend him? Without a doubt! You better believe it. You’d be doing yourself and your dog a disservice if you didn’t. He has absolutely earned the title of The DogFather! Thank you SO much!!
