My dog, Lucy, is a 7 year old catahoula/cattle dog mix. She has been reactive with other dogs since I got her at 8 weeks old, many people told me that it was because of her breed and “it’s just the way she is.” I finally decided that I owe it to her to get the problem fixed, I knew it came from a place of fear or anxiety and that just wasn’t fair to her. Lucy went from not being able to be on the same block as another dog, to now coexisting calmly with another dog in our home. We avoided walks and other fun things because the chance of seeing another dog was too high and she’d get too worked up, but now we go wherever we want to without an issue. I’ve never seen Lucy happier. Due to her breeds, Lucy is an incredibly fast learner and high energy. Nick catered to that perfectly and bonded with her immediately. My only regret is not seeking him out sooner. I never in a million years thought this would be possible for my pup, Nick works wonders. A fantastic trainer and friend, so much so that Lucy will be taking refresher classes solely so she still gets to see him. Lucy and I will never be able to thank him enough.
