Yes, our staff has extensive experience training deaf dogs, blind dogs, and blind and deaf dogs. We often have deaf dogs in many of our group classes including our puppy socialization class we call Puppy Prep and our Surviving Adolescence class. You will also find deaf dogs in our Agiity, NoseWork, Tricks, and other specialty classes. Blind and blind and deaf dogs can be found Puppy Prep, Surviving Adolescence, NoseWork and Tricks classes. And of course, we are happy to work with families privately, as well.

At The Dogs’ Spot, we will show you how to help your dogs make good choices by showing you how to focus on reinforcing desirable behaviors, rather than inadvertently reinforcing undesirable ones. Agility Fundamentals is the first class in the Agility series. This six-week class is geared toward the dog/handler team whose long-term goal is to compete, learn a new sport, or just have fun. This course covers equipment and team communication skills. As the handler's and dog's skills progress, they will be introduced to sequencing, polishing obstacle performance, building the dog's confidence and enthusiasm, and introducing the handler to basic course analysis skills. This is a foundation course and will require homework to ensure the dog's long-term success. The cost of this six-week class is: $249. The second class in the series is Agility Fundamentals II. This six-week class is geared to the dog/handler team that is continuing on from the Fundamentals level. This class costs: $249. You can also purchase the bundle for both classes at: $459.

Generally classes start at about $30 an hour. But, you can buy packages and save money. The first two sets of puppy classes are purchased for each entire course. After that you get punch cards and can enroll in one week at a time. So, for example as we moved from the second course Surviving Adolescents to the more advanced classes, we only spent a week in each of the intermediate classes before we were able to start the canine good citizen classes. Since I didn't have spend weeks in classes my dog didn't need, I feel like we saved money. If all goes well we will complete the good citizen classes in 4 or 5 sessions. Thus saving time and money. I have been VERY happy with the training methods that are used and drive from east of Raytown. I am currently training my new pup with Laura and she trained my 13 year old pup when he was a baby and I have a lot of respect for her and her methods

The reactive dog class was super helpful!
My dog Nyx just finished the Excellent Engagement course with KJ. If you want to get the most out of all of your current and future training efforts, TAKE EXCELLENT ENGAGEMENT! Nyx and I graduated the class much more connected. Her focus in situations across the board is much improved. I now have the tools to help her navigate new environments and gain confidence. This class is a game changer for strengthening your bond with your pup and providing a strong foundation for future learning. Our communication has never been better. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Just do it.

A great place to train with your pups! I have taken puppy classes and also beginning agility through advance agility classes. Although there is a wide variety of options. Instructors are very knowledgeable of dog behavior and always there to help. They strive to know you and your dog to personalize the training to meet your needs.
I can't say enough good things about our experience with Karen; she was outstanding. We found Karen after one of our dogs began attacking the other, and while no blood was drawn, we were at a loss of what her trigger was and were on the brink of having to give her away. Karen came in and, through her certified decade of experience, nonjudgmental listening, and hands on teaching, was able to teach us how to lessen and manage her behavior. Karen also stood out from other dog trainers by her true desire to see our dogs live a better life. Based on her actions, you could tell she was not interested in making mountains of money as she would tell us things that we may not have wanted to hear but needed to hear to be successful. Another exceptional aspect of Karen is the level of supplemental material she provides. She answered all the questions we had (in sessions and between) plus provided written reference material. I also felt that Dog Spot's pricing structure was the best in the KCMO area. You can purchase individual classes or bundles of classes (we did five at a time) and it was a flat in home rate no matter where you lived in the area. The flexibility was also top notch as Karen was always able to work with us to find a date that worked for our schedule. Thank you, Karen! You gave me my dog back ❤️
