I had an amazing experience working with Deanne, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. When we first started, my puppy was struggling with separation anxiety, barking, and some challenges on walks (such as eating non-food items). Deanne created a clear, personalized plan that helped us address each issue step by step. Deanne taught my puppy basic commands (sit, down, stay, etc.), no jumping when greeting people, walking calmly on leash, introduced him to the dog run in a safe and positive way, and gave me the tools to manage and greatly reduce barking that used to happen throughout the day. What I appreciated most was how patient, knowledgeable, and supportive Deanne was. She not only helped my puppy but also helped me understand how to reinforce good habits and maintain consistency at home. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dog behavior and sets you and your pup up for success, Deanne is absolutely the best choice.

We started working with Deanne before we got our puppy, which was so helpful in pre-prep and gaining a sense of what to expect, consider, etc. Our puppy has loved getting to know her over the past several months, and I have become a better dog mom thanks to her. Deanne cares deeply about the well-being of dogs, and she follows a strictly positive reinforcement training approach. She is dedicated to continuous education for herself and for her clients, and has a wealth of knowledge which she shares generously, as she does with her time. Very grateful for our time together!

Deanne was incredibly kind and supportive from the very first moment I reached out to her. I was feeling upset and concerned after my almost 12-year-old dog had an incident where she appeared aggressive with another dog, and I didn’t know how to make sense of what had happened. Even though it was the weekend, Deanne made time for me and spent an hour on the phone talking things through. She not only helped me understand my dog’s behavior, but also helped me process the experience emotionally, which meant so much. We later had a training session, and I was impressed by her depth of knowledge, calm presence, and how much she truly cares about the well-being of the dog. Everything she does clearly comes from a place of love and respect. My dog immediately felt comfortable with her, and that gave me confidence in Diane. I am grateful for Deanne and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled trainer.

Deanne has been incredibly generous with her time and patience as I navigated life with not just one, but two puppies. Before meeting her, I was honestly feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. Through our conversations, I learned so much and was able to refine both my approach and understanding of puppy care. Whether it was arranging puppy playdates, being a supportive sounding board, or even running home from the park in the pouring rain—puppies in tow—Deanne was always reliable, flexible, and accommodating. Her written summaries were especially helpful for keeping me focused and reminding me of our current goals. We all have our own ways of communicating and doing things, and I truly appreciated that Deanne created space for a therapeutic relationship to develop at a pace that felt comfortable for both me and my puppies. Her support has made a real difference for us.

I would highly recommend Deanne for separation anxiety training! Deanne is extremely dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I really trust her perspective, as she uses evidenced based techniques while creatively problem solving to improve my dog’s anxiety. She’s always available for additional support, and goes above and beyond to do anything she can to help - for instance, being available in between sessions, responding to texts after hours, attending vet appointments, etc. Most importantly, she is deeply caring about my dog's wellbeing. My rescue dog has moderate separation anxiety and Deanne worked with me for months to address this issue. Deanne has a lot of experience and knowledge. There has been some improvement so far and my pup is tolerating being alone now for short intervals compared to the beginning. Cannot say enough how great it has been working with Deanne!
