The Fine Canine Dog Training & Boarding

Monica from Fine Canine came to our home for a one on one obedience session with our pit/dogo rescue this past weekend. Monica is very knowledgeable about the temperament of our dog and her training methods are highly effective. By the end of the session, she had our dog responding to seven basic commands. Monica left us with a training plan for the next four weeks until the next family obedience class starts at the school. She also said we could call or text her anytime in between if we had any questions. I'm looking forward to attending the upcoming class and appreciate Monica's patience with my dog's anxiety issues!

Monica was absolutely fantastic. We've been having some problems with our two male dogs, with aggression, dominance, guarding, and disobedience. She have us so much useful information to help us with the dogs, and I've already seen a change in the dogs behavior after just a couple days! She was very knowledgeable about our dog's breeds and temperaments, and gave use some key, easy things we could do every day to help our dogs. I highly recommend her!

Monica is a lifesaver. Within minutes of entering our home, she diagnosed the problem and provided us with simple, easy-to-follow steps to get our dogs under control. She skillfully managed not only our two dogs, but also the 4 adults involved with taking care of the dogs. After working with the dogs for just a short time during her visit, they learned "go bed." Just one day later (and lots of practice!), our dogs are already much better behaved. They are staying off the couches and staying in their beds when we ask them. We still have a lot of practice ahead of us, but we know our dogs and our families will be much happier now. We are looking forward to continuing with obedience classes with Monica.

I got a new puppy after my sweet old man passed away in July, and it had been a LONG time since I've had a puppy. One of the agreements that I signed with the breeder I received my puppy from was that I would enroll and complete a Puppy Kindergarten class. Initially I thought, "Man, I've had dogs before, I know what I'm doing. Fred was the most well behaved dog known to man." Well, let me tell you: every puppy is different. Piper, my current puppy, could not be more different from Fred. Where he was super chill and eager to please, she is much more stubborn and prefers to do things her own way. After a few searches of training options in my area, I settled on Monica and the Fine Canine for a couple of reasons. First, it was a super easy location for me to get to. The classes hosted at TailGate for Dogs are right off the highway and a couple of major streets. Second, she received rave reviews. I am so glad I found her. She saved me from many sleepless nights. Piper was screaming at night when she was in the crate a mere seven weeks ago. With Monica's guidance, I can put her in the crate and she calms down within five minutes of being locked in. It's a beautiful thing. In addition to that, Piper has learned how to sit, lay down, go to her place (a blanket in the corner and her crate, AND, she's able to tell the difference). She no longer bolts out the door when the pizza man comes or I take the trash out, she understands "wait" and "stay". She is walking much nicer on a leash, though will still go after a squirrel or rabbit now and again, and if there's another dog on the street forget about it. We're still working on that one. We managed all of this in 7 weeks. Monica has given me the tools I didn't know I needed to ensure that I raise a responsible puppy who respects me and the other people she comes into contact with. She offers an array of classes, and given how quickly she was able to help me get my puppy on track, I plan to attend as many as I can. She's the best thing that's happened to our little family and my sanity.
