Do you offer any guarantees for your training results?
I guarantee the work I do with the dog while we are training. I cannot guarantee results if training is not reinforced at home or if the dog does not complete their training. I offer ongoing support and maintenance to help owners after their initial training is complete (excursion sessions, private sessions, group classes, workshops, etc.)
As a balanced trainer, I incorporate multiple styles into my overall training, as it is important to train each dog on an individual level in a way they best understand.
Will my dog need to continue training after completing your program?
In order for dog´s behavior to continue to be ¨good¨, maintenance training your dog is always recommended. Options for ongoing training is available for all clients once core training is complete.
How do you handle dogs that are difficult or uncooperative?
It depends on the dog. Sometimes muzzle conditioning is necessary for the safety of everyone involved in the training process. Regardless, patience is a must, and going at the dogs pace. But it should be understood, that some stress is healthy and necessary in dog training.

My 8 month old puppy was very difficult. In addition to normal puppy behaviors (jumping, nipping, etc) she was showing resource guarding behavior and was afraid of most everything, I could not even take her for a walk.
In desperation I called Abbi. We met and agreed my puppy would do well on the 2 week day train program with the e-collar.
The first week was slow, but by week 2 we were noticing improvement At the end of 2 weeks, Abbi showed my how to do everything that she had taught the puppy. She was like a different dog, I nearly cried.
Abbi is just the best!!! Now the puppy and I work together every day. It requires lots of patience, praise and treats. But so worth it.

We had a great experience with Abbi at The Good Dog. Our dog Millie participated in the Chill Canine group course. Millie can be very reactive on leash, so I was unsure if we would make it through the course. Abbi was patient and provided practical tips to help us improve Millie’s reactions. She was also extremely conscientious about safety and spending time with each dog. Training will always be a process for Millie, but we are headed in the right direction because of The Good Dog! We are excited to participate in more sessions!

Abbi was so patient with my (not so little) pup Callie. She’s a Siberian husky/American Staffordshire Terrier mix, so basically a small dinosaur and getting her socialized was important to me to se she can have a fun life with furry friends. She now loves to play, and because we worked through a lot of her anxieties she is free to let her personality shine!
