The Goode Dog

Maynard is currently training our new Doberman. We got her from the shelter, and we have no idea what her background was, other than trauma to her ears. The day after we got her, I called Maynard. Why? Because over 2 years ago he did an amazing job with our German Shepherd - another shelter dog. Why look elsewhere when I already had the best dog trainer? Dorsch, our Doberman is like a completely different dog. She gets along with my Shepherd, Schnitzel. I can take them both on walks with no pulling, and they actually listen! Maynard is patient and flexible. He comes to you. He is great with all breeds - large or small. If you need dog training, this is a no brainer. Maynard is the best at what he does.

Within just one year of training with Maynard, Viking earned his American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Community Canine (CGCA), and Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU) titles; milestones that reflect Maynard’s structured, consistent, and thoughtful approach. On top of that, Viking passed his Therapy Dog Evaluation with flying colors at just 14 months old. That speaks volumes about the foundation Maynard helped us build. Viking has always been mild-tempered, but Maynard refined his focus, reliability, and composure in real-world settings. Every session was intentional, positive, and incredibly effective. Maynard holds high standards while still being patient, supportive, and encouraging. Because of Maynard, Viking is steady, confident, and prepared for anything we ask of him. Maynard is the best! When we brought home our (surprise, labeled as a GSD but actually a Malinois mix puppy) I knew I was in over my head. Jasper is a very smart but stubborn (and sometimes dramatic) boy. Maynard showed us how to communicate effectively with Jasper and gave us strategies and routines we implemented for success. He helped us troubleshoot along the way too and has been a wonderful resource. Jasper LOVES Maynard, he LOVES group class, and I LOVE that we have a happy, emotionally regulated and dog-neutral adventure buddy! Jasper goes everywhere with me and he gets so many compliments for his behavior! I highly recommend Maynard, and Jasper does too!

Our Bernedoodle puppy Millie has been training with Maynard and The Goode Dog for over 2 months now. He has been fantastic working with her. Millie was very shy and fearful, but in just a couple months is coming out of her shell and learning her all of her commands very quickly. We take her out everywhere in public now. His group trainings have been awesome in helping her to socialize. Lots of great people and great dogs. We recommend Maynard and The Goode Dog to anyone looking for training!
