The Happy Hound Behavior and Obedience

I recently took Sami's "Walk Behind Heel" course on Emilee Mahar's Smart K9 Online page, and I couldn't be more impressed! Sami's training style is incredibly effective and her instructions are very clear, which helped everything connect for me. I found her course to be exactly what I needed to make a change with my dog. What sets Sami apart as a trainer is her ability to explain techniques and behaviors in a way that makes it easy to understand put into action. It's rare to find a trainer who not only knows what works but can articulate it in such a user-friendly way. Throughout all of our interactions Sami has been genuinely kind and supportive. She’s the kind of trainer who doesn't rush the process and takes the time to ensure you're confident in the techniques you're learning. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and effective dog trainer, Sami is definitely the person to go to!

We had a great experience with Sami training our 7 month old puppy, Bella. Bella is high energy and had no manors prior to Sami. However, Sami was able to see Bella's potential and she has already come so far. We were even able to introduce Bella to Sami's cat with ease! After more practicing we hope to be able to continue to do more training including off leash training. I would highly recommend Sami to anyone and everyone seeking out a great, patient, and skilled trainer.

10/10! I can’t recommend Happy Hound & Sami enough! She is bright, caring, and an absolute natural with dogs. My pup has her fair share of quirks, and Sami handled them with so much patience and understanding, never once making me feel like my dog was "bad" or untrainable. What really sets Sami apart is that she comes to your home and works with your dog in their own environment. It’s so helpful to have her see my dog in her day-to-day surroundings, and she tailors each session to what my dog and I need most. She’s incredibly flexible and adjusts the training as needed to make sure we’re both successful. I can’t wait to do another round of training with Happy Hound and continue building on the progress we’ve made. If you’re looking for someone who truly gets dogs and their unique personalities, Sami is the one to call! 🐾

Sami has been an absolute life saver for us! We have been working with Sami for several months for our puppy who had major challenges with leash walking and aggression while on leash. It was almost impossible to go for walks and they were frustrating and awful for both of us. Sami is so positive and calm, is unbelievably knowledgeable, and has completely transformed our walks. She does an amazing job at teaching the dog owners exactly what to do (and the why behind it) so we are able to confidently practice the skills outside of our sessions. I thought it was an impossible task to fix the issues we were having, and our pup has had the most amazing transformation. I can’t recommend Sami enough!!!

There are not enough words to describe how excellent our experience with Sami was. Cash started his three week board and train a fearful, anxious, co-dependent dog. He had severe dog reactivity and we couldn't see a dog a block away without him reacting. On day one, Sami had him socializing with her dogs. She taught him leash manners and he walks like an angel on a leash now - even if we see a dog. His recall is excellent and if he starts to get anxious about another dog, I simply call his name and he immediately looks at me and I am able to distract him and we can continue our walk. Sami gave Cash more confidence and freedom as we are now able to let him roam around parks on a 20ft lead knowing if we need his attention, we can call him and he'll come to us. Not only did she work miracles with our dog, she gave us the tools to feel confident walking him and helping him get through his feelings. She sent updates constantly during his stay there and I would 100% recommend her for any of your dog's needs.
