The Happy Retriever

We are so grateful for the happy retriever!! Our dog Tate has attended bump up days as well as a one week bootcamp for pinch collar training and basic commands. We are so impressed with the results! We were struggling with him pulling on the leash and tried every contraption to get him to stop pulling but after one day with Jana it’s like something in his brain switched. She does an amazing job communicating with Tate but also with teaching us so we can reinforce everything he is learning at home. Jana is the best and we are just so happy with the work she has done and the bond she has with Tate! I truly can’t even believe the changes in Tate after such a short amount of time. We are finally able to enjoy walks with our dog instead of worrying he will pull us down the street! He walks right at our hip and smiles at us the whole time! The staff at the happy retriever are the kindest people that truly love your dog so much. I always get nervous leaving my dog somewhere new but when I saw how excited Tate was to get dropped off every day and how excited the staff was to see him I knew he was in the best hands. We drive all the way from Boston to bring Tate to the happy retriever because there is truly nowhere better!!

We took our puppy, Dash, to bump up days and a one-week bootcamp, and the results did not disappoint! Dash worked with Jana, and he lit up each time he spotted her at training. They are so kind at Happy Retriever and all staff members seem to have a real love for the animals they work with. Dash has been much better behaved on walks, and his commands (sit, stay, place, etc). have also improved immensely. We recommend the Happy Retriever to all of our new dog-owner friends who are hoping to train their new pups.

My dog, Darcy, has been going to the Happy Retriever since she was 3 months old. She has received great training from each trainer there, and I am confident that she is well taken care of during boarding stays. I highly recommend the puppy training courses. It’s truly the best investment to have a well trained dog! I love that Darcy gets her training reinforced anytime I need to board her while I’m out of town. 5 stars!

We sent our 15 month old dog for a handful of Bump Up Days and a 2 week resident training with pinch collar training to address significant pulling when on leash. We had worked with other training places and felt we had exhausted other training options. His behavior on leash is remarkably improved. We feel that the $ was worth it. We plan to continue working with The Happy Retriever for Bump Up Days to maintain his skills.

As a first time dog mom, the anxiety that I was not doing anything right for my puppy was very real. The Happy Retriever listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions patiently with a great understanding. Couldn't recommend their bump up days more, it's a great way to get your pup attention and socialization outside the house. Our puppy recently completed a boot camp at the Happy Retriever and it was the best experience. Our trainer, Jana, was an absolute gem and we loved her.
