The Haus of Dogs

I can’t say enough good things about The Haus of Dogs. I adopted my dog in November 2025 with them as the adoption/rehoming facilitator. My 3.5 year-old 40 lb. mixed breed, Meja, came to me fearful and aggressive towards men in her or my space, reactive to small creatures and unpredictable around other dogs. She was timid, nervous and whiny in busy environments or when meeting new people. Through extensive training with Aishah Hammock, she has come a long way. Meja is more relaxed and confident, and I have many tools for handling potentially triggering situations. With my consistent use of the training that Aishah has provided, I have no doubt she will continue to thrive. If you need help with training your dog, or wanting to adopt from a rescue, I absolutely recommend The Haus of Dogs. Before I adopted Meja, Aishah went through all the dogs available for adoption, their background and any needs to make sure I adopted a dog that would fit well into my life. Since Meja was a rehoming adoption, there were issues that Aishah was not aware of, and within 3 days after taking her home…I realized I needed help. Aishah was responsive and immediately stepped up to give me advice. I am very grateful for her help and guidance…and bonus, Meja loves her. She is always happy to see Aishah.

I stumbled upon Haus of Dogs in an unexpected way, and from learning about what they do I am truly impressed! The owner takes things seriously, and is very thorough explaining the wonderful ways in which they help rescue dogs. I am impressed to hear their success rates from rescuing and training these animals, to finding them loving forever homes. I sent my 12-year-old Jack Russell to Aisha for her 5-week board-and-train, and it has genuinely changed our lives. He is extremely stubborn, anxious, and deeply attached to me in an unhealthy way. Before training, daily life revolved around managing chaos: door rushing (which caused me to fall down a flight of stairs twice), destruction in the house and car, constant barking and whining, and severe separation distress. I had already worked with multiple trainers over the years without meaningful change, so committing to this program felt like a huge leap, financially and emotionally. What Aisha did was build real impulse control and structure where we had none. He now waits calmly at doors, for his leash, and for meals. He settles on his cot while I work. Barking and frantic behaviors are dramatically reduced. He is no longer panicking or clawing at doors when separated from me. We also finally have clear feeding and routine guidance (she even coordinated with a veterinarian), and we’re no longer dealing with stress-related kennel accidents during my hectic student midwife training. The transition home wasn’t instant perfection. Aisha was very honest about that. The first couple weeks were an adjustment as we all learned the new system. She supported us through it with check-ins, troubleshooting, and realistic expectations. By week three, the new rhythm felt more natural, and life is simply more manageable and peaceful. I was initially hesitant about tools like the e-collar, but in our case, balanced training with firm, consistent boundaries was exactly what this dog needed after years of escalating anxiety and behavior issues. What mattered most to me was how he was treated, and it was clear Aisha both cared about him and held him to healthy standards. He was safe, understood, and supported while in her care. If you’re struggling with a strong-willed or anxious dog, my biggest advice is: don’t wait until you’re at your breaking point like I did. I spent far more time, money, and stress trying other approaches first. This program addressed issues quickly and clearly in a way nothing else had for us. I’m incredibly grateful I found Aisha and trusted her with him. She gave us structure, communication, and a far healthier relationship. My dog came home calmer, more confident, and able to live successfully in our world. I didn’t have expectations entirely, but as it’s unfolded, that’s everything I hoped for.

Cannot recommend Haus of Dogs more highly! Aishah was incredibly patient and supportive, answering all our many questions and making sure we were matched with the right dog. You can tell how much she truly cares, and how much their whole community cares - our pup’s foster family clearly put so much work into potty training and crate training, which we're so grateful for. The foster-based approach really shows in how well they know about each dog. We’re so grateful to Aishah, the foster, and everyone involved for helping us find our perfect match!

Absolutely the best. We got the perfect rescue anyone could ask for. The Haus of Dogs diff takes amazing care of all their rescues and animals. They treat them with so much love and it shows through their animals. They also have gone above and beyond after we adopted our sweet GSD. They have boarded him and took care of him as he is theirs. Asher loves going there ( literal vacation for him). I can’t recommend this place enough. If you want a new pet or know anyone who wants one, check them out!!! Asher is my first pet ever and I feel beyond lucky and blessed to have found him through the Haus of dogs.
