The Home Grown Dog

We bought a second Havanese after our first one passed because she was so smart, lovable and very easy to train. Well, not the same characteristics for the second baby!! lol She is definitely smart, affectionate and the greatest companion, but her energy was thru the roof. I was at a loss for what to do. lol I called Emily and explained and she was so easy to talk with and said let me spend some time with her. We signed Juneau up for the 3 week class and when I picked her up, she was a different puppy. Emily is outstanding. She took Juneau on like she was her very own. Whenever I go away and need someone to watch her , I am at peace leaving her with Emily. Thank you Emily for treating Juneau like your own. I so appreciate you!!!

Emily is outstanding! We chose the 3 week board and train for our almost two year old boxer/pittie and she came back with new skills that we can actually apply in all settings! We had a midway session and a go-home session that was extremely helpful. Emily always kept us updated daily, with pictures and how mango was doing. We definitely recommend her services and I honestly feel the 3 week route is the best one for most pups and owners to really get the most of all the tools and new skills!

In three weeks, Emily transformed our family. If you have even CONSIDERED a board and train program, just book with Emily - it will be worth every dollar and then some. Our two year old dog Mango was either operating at 100% energy or sleeping. We couldn’t go for walks without extreme pulling, which made her indoor energy even more intense. Emily’s training program taught Mango appropriate energy levels and how to have fun without bulldozing tables in the house or jumping on guests. Honestly, we thought a board and train would be too much pressure, money, and time away for a dog that wasn’t “aggressive” or “bad” but that should not be the bar… Mango’s world was shrinking because we couldn’t control her behavior. We were speaking two different languages and Emily bridged the barrier so our expectations and clear and we understand Mango as well. Mango seems so much happier, more relaxed, and well behaved. Emily also spent many hours with us between updates and owner training to transfer the tools she taught and dog psychology. I’m amazed and so grateful.

I highly recommend Emily! Our 7 month old Miniature Australian Labradoodle – Tommy – spent 3 weeks with her. He had basic commands when the training started but as a teenage boy, he needed lots of work! We had several goals including improved loose leash walking, not barking at neighbors on walks, not jumping on and barking at guests, maintaining “place” and coming when called. We also needed him to respond to our command for “out” as he was beginning to guard some prized resources. He came home behaving like a gentleman – so much calmer and settles down nicely on his cot throughout the day. It is so rewarding to see the progress he made. Emily is a great teacher for both the dogs and their owners. We received daily updates during the week from her about Tommy’s successes and challenges. She is passionate about what she does, and it shows!
