I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to train with Gonzalo & his husky Blue. I found the combination of private lessons and the group classes were perfect for both myself and my high drive puppy. With Gonzalo's help, we are on our way to having a relationship that's even better than what I had envisioned. I'm amazed at the various situations my 11 month old puppy can now handle. Gonzalo is generous with his time and is 100% committed to helping you achieve your goals. As we proceed to more advanced training, I'm grateful I have Gonzalo to continue guiding us.

He’s one of the most mindful people you’ll ever meet and a brilliant communicator with both people and dogs. Gonzalo is the definition of a balanced trainer. He embodies confidence and ease, structure and fun, discipline and joy. He takes the time to get to know you and your dog’s personalities, needs, and motivation. His techniques work immediately upon implementation. He pushes you and your dog in a way that is both doable and enjoyable and supports you every step of the way. He shows you how to have not just a polite and well behaved dog, but how to cultivate a soul deep relationship with your dog built on trust, boundaries, and connection. When I came to Gonzalo my 2 dogs (1 year old Littermate rescue puppies) had severe fear and reactivity. It was pretty chaotic inside our home and on our adventures. It was difficult to have guests over. Belle was shy and lacking confidence with new people and stimuli. And Obie was growling, barking, and suspicious with new people and stimuli. I had already worked with two other trainers that just didn’t have the skill set needed to get to the root causes of my dogs’ reactivity. Gonzalo helped me gain mountains of confidence in working my dogs, and together as a team, we’ve grown all the necessary skills to move through the world with neutrality and calm. And our time at home is filled with so much more peace. I fell in love with dog training and have such an amazing bond with my dogs now because of it. I’m so grateful for all of the ways Gonzalo helped me become a better leader and caregiver for my dogs. My only regret is not finding Gonzalo’s training sooner. He’s truly the best and will bring out the best in you and your dogs!

I am so fortunate to have found Gonzalo! Chase is a 1 year old toy Australian Shepard with separation anxiety, became reactive after children scared him in a restaurant, barked at everyone and everything and could not calm down. We no longer could take him to restaurants or around people so I sought out training. I was going with a national company and our first session was not good to say the least, a one size fits all mentality and created so much reactivity in my dog they deemed him too reactive and unable to work with him and needed to be boarded with them for 2 weeks, they did not even attempt to get to know my dog or the situation. I canceled and searched out different trainers as this was not a good fit. We had a video call before our first session and he already saw Chase reacting in the background and spent half the time training over this call. His style was a perfect fit for us. The small corrections that make HUGE changes is like magic, but it is a lot of work and you have to be consistent to get the results. Huge rewards if you put in the work. Gonzalo is caring, professional and educates why your dog is doing the behavior and why the method he is using to train for your breed, situation and your life. He breaks it down into steps that build upon each other while strengthening your relationship with your dog. Chase’s transformation has been amazing and love getting compliments instead of the looks and comments at my unpredictable dogs behavior. I recommend Gonzalo to everyone!

The Human Dog Team and Gonzalo are an excellent choice if you're looking to transform your dog into the best version they can be. He is a caring and experienced trainer that will help you reach your goals using methods that work best for you and your dog. We began looking for a trainer after our shepherd/pit shelter rescue started lashing out at just about anything that moved while we were on walks. I've had dogs my entire life but never dealt with such levels of reactivity or a dog that went from 0 to 100 so quickly. Since our first session, Louise has gone from trying to eat Gonzalo and everybody in sight to a dog we can take to a restaurant or a crowded farmer's market without issues. We’ve gone from people crossing the street to avoid us, to getting compliments on how well behaved and impressive our dog is. Gonzalo did not achieve these results through magic; everything he instructed us to do has come from years of working with animals and a deep understanding of what best helps your dog. He set us on a path to build a lot of structure for our dog and establish a strong relationship of trust. To be clear, this was a lot of work for all parties involved, and you need to be prepared to put in the work to get long lasting results. Gonzalo gave clear instructions and broke everything down into manageable steps that worked well with our very busy lifestyle. I cannot state enough how pleased we are from working with Gonzalo and the value he has added to our life by helping us and our dog.

I felt very lost in trying to find the right dog trainer. There are so many approaches and options out there but man, am I so happy I found Gonzolo! I was close to going with the a big name company when I had made one last call to Gonzolo. In this initial call, before I had even committed to working with him, he could hear my dog being reactive in the background and he had taken up half of his time with me to help me calm him down. That pretty much sold it for me. My 1.5 year old hound was extremely excitable, pulled on the leash, was reactive with my neighbor's dog, was very vocal and didn't listen. I didn't have much control and I felt lost in knowing how to correct these behaviors without damaging my relationship with my dog. I really appreciated Gonzolo's methods because he takes the time to understand your goals/lifestyle you want with your dog, your comfortability with using different tools, and he sincerely cares about the relationship between you and your dog. He is extremely knowledgable when it comes to training and on many other things! My relationship with my hound is so much better. He has a clear understanding of his boundaries and is such a better listener. Now that I can relax and trust that he will listen and chose the right behavior, he has a lot more freedoms and have so much more fun together. It's hard work but worth it!
