The Jersey Dog Trainer

Renee is an amazing trainer! We rescued a beautiful pit bull mix from our local shelter. She is such a sweet girl but hadn’t been treated very well at her previous home. So we weren’t surprised she had huge trust issues, especially towards our son. She would bark at him, jump on the back of his chair or run from him. It was becoming a stressful situation especially since he is a dog lover. Anxiously I started looking for trainers. I called several places and read up on their style. I didn’t want military like discipline, she had already been through enough. Desperately looking for about a week Renee’s site popped up. She was everything I wanted for us and Sasha. From our first conversation I knew she was a perfect fit. Her training comes from love and positive reinforcement. The very first visit Renee had Sasha playing with our son & laying quietly at his feet. Taking her on walks was so stressful both Sasha and I dreaded them. She constantly looked behind and crossed in front of me no matter how hard I tried to keep her on my left side. Renee provided us with all the tools that we needed through demonstration and things to read. She checked the ingredients in the food and treats we were giving Sasha and suggested better alternatives. Our walks are much better, Sasha actually sits for her harness to be put on instead of running from us. My family and I are truly grateful to Renee.

Renee is probably one of the top dog trainers in the south Jersey area for sure. I originally was surfing google and meeting wi5h many trainers, but never felt comfortable. After speaking to my vet, he recommended Renee. I spoke to Renee and scheduled a meet and greet with our dog and we knew it was a perfect match. Renee helped us with many issues with a dog who is tough to train as he’s not inspired by treats. After not having a dog for several years my wife and I decided to get a new family member. Our new coonhound puppy made us very happy. He was very rambunctious and after 4 months we took him to a local boarder for 2 weeks of obedience training. When he came back to us he was marginally better and we had to keep the pinch collar on him at all times. Over the next month or so he became more and more aggressive to the point where he would bite people. We found that if he took something from the table he would attack you if you tried to get it away. One day he bit my son and snapped at an employee at our workplace. I was so disheartened that I called the coonhound reduce to give him up. I was in tears talking to the person from the rescue. I did not want to give up on him but was at a loss at what to do. They suggested that I contact a trainer that is affiliated with the IAABC. They pointed me to Renee. We hired Renee and she has helped us immensely. She made us understand what was going on with Cooper, that his issue was resource guarding. We began to train with Cooper and saw immediate results. What once was a dog that was out of control is has quickly become a loved family member. Renee not only helps training the dog but she trained us on how to deal with him. I would highly recommend Renee if you are having any kind of behavioral issue with you pet. We still have work to do but thanks to Renee, our Cooper is going to have a long loving home in our house. The one thing that makes Renee outshine other trainers is her deep knowledge of breed specific behavior. She understands what comes naturally to a breed and how to work with these traits. Instead of fighting against behavior, Renee shows how to work with it. Renee shows how modification is possible with love, patience and lots of treats! Through her techniques, my beagle and I reached a better, deeper level of communication. We learned to love training instead of dreading it. I would recommend Renee for anyone who wants a deeper relationship with their dog as well as a well behaved, adjusted, happy dog.
