The K9 Coach FL

We had tried another trainer with our GSP puppy and, unfortunately, weren’t seeing much success in changing some of his challenging behaviors. Then we found Mike, The K9 Coach, and the difference has been incredible. Gus is a very high-energy 8-month-old GSP, and after just our first training session with Mike, we were given practical instructions that immediately started making a positive difference in our family. Gus is now walking nicely on leash and has made tremendous improvements with his behavior in the house. What really sets Mike apart is that he doesn’t just train the dog — he teaches you to understand your dog. Mike has taught us so much about dog behavior and, just as importantly, how we need to change our own behavior and approach to effectively communicate with and train Gus. We feel like we finally have the tools and understanding to help Gus become the well-behaved dog we knew he could be. We are so grateful for Mike, The K9 Coach's guidance and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and effective dog trainer!

Mike has been absolutely amazing turning my dog around! Words are not enough to express the immense tension its taken off my shoulders working with him. We rescued our dog not knowing anything about him except he was dumped and abandoned.. Well came to find, while hes so loving to use, he is very protective and could be aggressive to others. Mike is not the 1st trainer I've worked with on these issues but hes done the most, really above and beyond. The last trainer tough him all the basics, but didn't help me understand how to manage the dogs emotions and reactions.. When Mike 1st met my dog, my dog would bark, lunge and not let Mike even take over the leash to train. But Mike told us what to do and walked us through the 1st session without even picking up the leash because my dog wouldn't have it. The dog was stubborn when it came to stranger danger. By the end of the 2nd session (a lot sooner than expected) he was able to take the leash and work with him and now my dogs so happy to see him everytime we train together. And during sessions hes constantly meeting new people and dogs, and is doing amazing! I actually get compliments on how good he is!!! It's not the initial however many training sessions that made me this comfortable with the type of dog I have. Its the continual class sessions with other people and dogs thats really helped with my confidence in him. It's not all about what the trainer does with the dog, but also how the trainer, trains you, to train your dog. Mike is helping me train better so the dog can trust my leadership and not decide for himself what to do. He loves and looks forward to his training sessions, and we dont even use treats. Mikes training me more than the dog. I still havent figured out having company at the house 100% yet, but its a process and Mike's done wonders from where the dog started. Everything good in life takes time, and where doing the steps with the best guidance.
