The Loyal Hound

We adopted our 11-month male, Hunter, in January & although he has a sweet temperament, he clearly lacked training in his previous life! Of most concern was his reactivity to other dogs which was making walks a nightmare! He would whine, pull & bark at any dog we came across & it seemed to be getting worse. He also had common puppy/adolescent misbehavior that needed to be addressed correctly. The program at The Loyal Hound is an investment but a worthwhile one, particularly as they offer lifetime (of the dog) refresher training & are available to answer questions & provide guidance as needed. Needless to say, Hunter & I are now calmer & more confident, & walks are enjoyable again! Jay & Shannon have been communicative, kind & supportive since day one! We highly recommend their expertise & care for your furry companion!

We spent a lot of time “training” our dog with a local dog trainer from the time we brought her home as a 2-month-old puppy because we knew she’d grow up to be on the bigger side and wanted her to be well-behaved. She’s always been the sweetest girl (we’ve never had issues with her doing anything malicious). But, despite all the “training” we were paying for, she still continued to do some things that she was too big for… Jumping on people, getting mouthy when playing, pulling uncontrollably on walks when we’d see any people/dogs, selectively choosing to come when called. Eventually, we were frustrated and decided to try “The Loyal Hound.” We were worried about the time away from her, the price tag, whether anything would even change if we weren’t training her ourselves, whether too much would change & she’d be a robot. Now, looking back, we couldn’t be happier. She is the same goofball that we dropped off, but she has come SO far and her bad habits are a distant memory. What is even better – we have felt so cared for by Shannon and Jay since our very first phone call. The continuity of care and ability to return to touch-up on the training (our training and refreshers are so important!) is unbeatable. We would highly recommend The Loyal Hound to anyone.

We brought our dog Echo here after having issues with reactivity and aggression for years. We had worked with multiple other trainers with minimal progress. Jay and the Loyal Hound were incredible and helped us immensely. Before going to Loyal Hound Echo could not be within 20 feet of a person without barking and becoming extremely anxious. Last week we were able to walk through Home Depot with no issues. They are very communicative when your dog is there which helped put our minds at ease. We would highly recommended the Loyal Hound for both dogs with and without issues!
