We'd like to do a better job of training this one.
How soon should we start a class?
Hi Jeanne, thank you so much for contacting The Persuaded Pooch. Congratulations on your new pup... How exciting! Normally, I would say that your pup should come to puppy class at 8 weeks of age for socialization. However, we are not able to have puppy classes currently due to restrictions on the space. Therefore, we recommend private training as soon as possible after you bring your puppy home. Sometimes we have clients book the New Puppy Consultation even before they bring their puppy home, so we can help them be prepared from Day 1. Do you train dogs to be therapy dogs? If so, what is the cost and length of training

However, if you are seeking to get into a therapy dog certification program, or refine your dog’s therapy dog skills once you are in a program, we can assist. George is our 1/2 Great Pyreness 1/2 Aus Shephard who does not like other dogs - so walking him, going to the park or sitting on a beach were difficult. Sarah did a wonderful job not only training George to learn some good behaviors, but also giving us invaluable tips, techniques and tricks to use when we are confronted with another dog (or other triggers). We hired Sarah to work privately with 2 of our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Within 5 visits, both of our boys were successfully completing basic obedience commands. Sarah was absolutely amazing with me (and my dog). In a short time my puppy has become a wonderful citizen in my high rise apartment. Even other residents complemented Sarah and me on how much better my pup was at meeting people and dogs!
