The Pet Whisperers

I recently witnessed a disturbing scene at Encinitas Community Park. A woman walking a group of dogs was using harsh leash corrections that left several of the dogs visibly fearful and stressed. Instead of enjoying their walk, the dogs appeared anxious and subdued. At the end of the outing, she crammed at least six dogs into the back of her Subaru or similar car, which raised serious concerns about both their safety and comfort. The entire experience looked exhausting and joyless for the dogs, and it was heartbreaking to watch. When I asked if she was a professional dog walker, she told me she worked for “The Pet Whisperers.” The name suggests compassion and gentle care, but what I observed was the opposite—treatment that looked more like control and intimidation than kindness. Pet owners deserve to know how their dogs are being handled on these so-called “pack walks.” I just reported this abuse to San Diego Humane Society and they were grateful for it. I noticed there are similar reviews like this here on Google and on NextDoor about this company and this heavy set woman. San Diego Humane Society encourages those who witness abuse to report it. It’s not enough to leave a review in order to help these voiceless dogs and the people who entrust this abusive company to care lovingly for their dogs.

Worst experience ever! Terrible communication, but we were ok with it because we thought the dogs would be out playing, or left out of a cage, but when we arrived at the compound to pick up our 5 month old pups, I immediately knew something was wrong because one of our dogs was startled and wouldn't let us touch him for several days and the other was acting a little odd too. I'm not sure what happened but they were definitely scared after being there for several days. I felt so bad for leaving them there and unfortunately, the lady who was picking them up from our house thought they were Yorkies for some reason and not aussiedoodles. She took their food but the pups were starving when we picked them up. I'm not sure what happened to our dogs but I know something bad happened, so we will never ever return. At first I couldn't believe it but then I started doing some research and found some other similar stories. Apparently people seem really happy with the small dog side of the house, but not so much the big dog side. So disappointed. Please note- this is my only non 5 star review out of dozens of Google reviews. I think that's important to point out.
