The Retriever Academy

I currently have 2 chocolate labs with Derek. Q passed the Master National in 2018 in Oregon. I bought another dog from a very reputable kennel. Derek got her at 6 months. Almost from the beginning Derek let me know she may not possess the skills and the desire to play the game and compete. After about 2 months it was clear she was not interested. Derek is VERY honest and straight forward. She came home. Derek helped me find another dog who loves to do the work. I have been in this game for over 15 years. Derek is the best from the facilities to the care and training of the dogs. There are NO words. Your fur baby is in excellent hands at the Retriever Academy.

As the owner and operator of the Super Retriever Retriever Series I cannot recommend The Retriever Academy enough. Beautiful Grounds, opportunities to go there, stay for the weekend and train your dogs at all any level is a extra perk that The Retriever Academy offers, not to mention Derek and Melinda Randle are beyond the best of Hosts. That is just the beginning, Derek Randle and his team of trainers are the best with and for our retrievers. His patience and training abilities with our retrievers from obedience level to advanced level hunting retrievers are way above 5 star ratings. Derek and The Retriever Academy are always who I recommend when asked for retriever training.

Ken and I are excited that “Mercy” will be the third Lab that Derek Randle has trained for us. Over the past 12 years, we have observed Derek’s structured, daily training program, which prepares the dogs to perform a defined set of abilities through marking, style, and perseverance at hunt tests. When training, Derek develops individualized plans for the dogs helping them to be successful with any given concept. He ensures that all dogs know the requirements lain before them and realizes how each dog may perform in any given situation. Based on the qualities of Mr. Randle’s breeding, training, and handling ability, Derek’s team of dogs, many of which he bred, continue to prove their successes at hunt tests. Randle has verified those previously mentioned abilities as evidenced in two of our dogs: GRHRCH “Toots” MH MNR MNH4 and HRCH “Mony” MH. Beth R. Walizer, Ph.D.

I can’t say enough good things of this peace of heaven called Retriever Academy. Go every year and it just keeps getting better and better . The grounds are just beautiful and the lodge is a class act . Derek and his wife and the trainers do everything they can to make your stay one of the best . I’ve seen a lot of training places and trainers , Let me tell ya this is one of the best . I would recommend Retriever Academy in a heart beat to anyone looking for honest trainers ,and a wonderful environment for your dog.
