I'd give more stars if I could! Ursula's training has changed our lives for the better! Her one-on-one process with our 2 year-old Aussie was comprehensive and enjoyable. We initially discussed what behaviors we wanted to improve upon and she laid out the plan beforehand and kept us updated along the way (texts/videos/in-person visits) as new skills were achieved. It's honestly been life-changing for our entire family ever since our dog came home. Every chance I get, I'm recommending her services because she's just that good! We will be returning for more in-depth e-collar training and I'm super stoked to see even more growth.

We are beyond grateful for the incredible work Ursula did with our very energetic pup we adopted from the shelter. When we started, our dog was reactive on walks, constantly jumping up on people--we were honestly overwhelmed. From the very beginning, Ursula was kind and patient. What truly set her apart was her constant communication and deep care. We received regular updates, photos, and videos showing our dog’s progress, and each one brought so much peace of mind. It wasn’t just that our dog was improving — we could see how loved, safe, and understood she was in Ursula’s care. Ursula laid a strong, thoughtful foundation for our dog’s training that has continued to make a lasting difference. Even as a busy dog owner who is still learning, I feel confident knowing I can always return to the basics Ursula established. She also made time to teach us — walking us through commands and explaining how to reinforce everything at home in a way that felt manageable and encouraging. She was flexible, understanding, and so easy to work with. Before finding Ursula, I called multiple places, but they were either out of our budget or had rigid one-size-fits-all program. Ursula was the complete opposite — approachable, adaptable, and genuinely invested in helping our whole family succeed.

We met Ursula last week and she was able to help me in a bind to get my puppy in for a weekend. She was very professional and flexible about my timing needs. Her top priority for the dogs is safety then training and comfort. My dog is 16 weeks old and truly enjoyed his time there. Ursula’s approach will work best in longer periods, but three days was still VERY helpful!!!! We will definitely be back and 100% would recommend her to ANYONE!

5/5 stars! I inquired with The Skilled for our 1 year old Bullmastiff over obedience training. The business owner/trainer, Ursula, got right back to me and we scheduled a meeting that same day. I brought my dog to her home, she checked him out, we talked about wants, needs, concerns, goals, training plan, cost etc… we decided to do her in house program where she has your dog stay with her for a month and is trained the entire time. Ursula sent us pictures and progress updates daily, it was great! Our dog was not just trained but also taken care of and loved his entire stay there. When the month came to an end and our dog’s training was done she delivered him back to our home and did a 2 hour training session in our own home to show us how to continue to handle/train with him. He was very obedient, calm and content. We are very very happy with The Skilled K9 and cannot recommend it enough to those looking to take their dog to the next level of training. We are very grateful for Ursula, Jubabe, Milo, friends and family that all helped train, love and take care of our boy.

We hired Ursula to train our 8-month-old Golden Doodle, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Our puppy was boarded with Ursula for about five weeks, and she completely transformed into a well-trained and obedient companion. Our primary goal was to prevent her from jumping on and biting our toddler, and our secondary goal was leash training. Ursula not only met these goals but exceeded our expectations. She was incredibly honest and evaluated our puppy’s needs right away, suggesting we skip basic training and move to more advanced training focused on improving self-control in challenging situations. Ursula used a combination of positive reinforcement and the e-collar, which she implemented in a very professional and humane way. She took the time to explain her approach in detail, which gave us confidence in the process. She gradually introduced distractions and worked on extending our puppy’s self-control duration, which has been a game-changer. Now, we can reliably walk our dog off-leash, and her destructive behaviors have been resolved. Ursula’s methods have given us a puppy who is not only well-behaved but also happier and more confident. We highly recommend Ursula to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate dog trainer who produces incredible results.
