The Spot by NutriSource

This was our first time using The Spot and it came highly recommended from a colleague. We dropped off our dog Roo for 8 days (Saturday–Sunday) while we were on spring break. Roo is no stranger to boarding, we usually send her a few times per year. What went well: After a couple of days, The Spot staff called to let us know Roo wasn’t eating and asked permission to give her wet food. Appreciated this communication and attentiveness. What didn’t go well: On Thursday morning, we received a call that Roo had a cough that they thought might be kennel cough. We were told she needed to be picked up immediately so it wouldn't spread. Well, we were in Florida, immediate pickup wasn't an option. We had to arrange for a family member to drive 30 minutes to pick her up 2 days early. After the early pickup, we were charged a “late pickup” fee because it was after 12 pm...? That fee was only removed after I called to dispute it. More concerning, Roo has shown zero symptoms since returning home. No coughing or any other signs of illness, only 24+ hours later. While I understand the need to be cautious with potential illness, this situation felt rushed and not well-verified before calling us and requiring an early pickup. I shared this feedback with management, but aside from removing the late fee, the response did not address the larger concerns. Overall: The handling of the supposed illness and billing situation was frustrating and disappointing.

We had such a great experience here! Drop-off and pick-up were super easy and smooth, and all of the staff were so kind and welcoming. You can tell they truly care about the dogs. They also gave me updates throughout the day, which made it so much easier to leave Bo and gave me so much peace of mind. Bo clearly had the BEST time — he came home happy, tired, and was so excited when I picked him up! It means so much knowing he was safe, cared for, and having fun all day. We will absolutely be bringing him back and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place they can trust with their dog! 🐾 Bo Approved! 🐾
