The Wayward Canine

I am a dog trainer (went to and certified through a school) based out of ND. I took the opportunity to travel from ND to NH to learn from Josh and Alyssa through their mentorship program. It was hands down the best thing I’ve dog for myself and my dog. I have a Dutch herder who is known for being explosive and over the top. When he hit frustration he would turn to aggression and would handler redirect. He had live bites on him when we went to them and in general was fast to hit that frustration/red zone making him a very dangerous dog to work with. Josh and Alyssa took the time to understand him, past training, and our relationship. We worked with them in the beginning of February. It is the Beginning of May as I write this review and we have spent all those months diligently putting everything they taught us into everyday life with complete consistency. He is a totally different dog in work and in home. He’s now clear, calm, takes and understands fair corrections, and has gone from nerve wracking to work to a complete joy. He went from being defensive and edgy with people to relaxed and chill. He had always been neutral with people but had an edge to that neutrality - how his general body language and behaviors show how comfortable he is and not avoiding social interactions but rather enjoying them. His overall mindset is so much chiller. I cannot say enough amazing things about working with Josh and Alyssa. They truly are masters of the trade and made a massive life or death difference in my dogs life but also have me so much more confidence in understanding and working with the type of dog he is. I recommend anyone and everyone who can works with them no matter what your goal is (or experience with dogs, their methods is so much more in tune with the dog then anyone else I’ve learned from and they truly do not fit every dog into one training plan. Your dogs training plan will truly be theirs with the wayward canine team!)
