The Zensational Dog

Anita is awesome! I sent my 1.5 year old (70 lb) rescue pup to The Zensational Dog for a three week board and train porgram and the results were life changing! Before training my dog Whiskey had alot of issues with boundries, walking on the leash, ignoring commands, barking and lunging at other dogs on walks, as well as a mix of anxiety and confidence issues. Throoughout his time at The Zensational Dog, Whiskey grew into a confident well behaved dog with a whole new skill set that he could put to use on and off the leash! After the three weeks were up, Anita worked with me to teach me everything that Whiskey had learned and taught me a new way to communicate with him. Now, Whiskey is doing great! He is doing amazing on walks and is listening to me at home and in public! He no longer lunges at other dogs on walks and understands boundries and is so much more confident than before. I live in Nashville, TN (a very dog freidly city) and now I am able to confidently take Whiskey to dog friendly resturants, bars, shops, outdoor markets, on hikes, to dog parks, lakes, and more! This experience changed our relationship for the better and Whiskey and I are very happy with the results! Even after training Anita continues to follow up with me providing help and tips to continue Whiskeys training. She always answers my questions and phone calls and truly cares about Whiskey and continuing his success! I would highly reccomend training at The Zensational Dog for to any dog owner!

When I told my vet that I thought I needed a "dog matchmaker" - someone to help me pick a companion for my male pug/terrier mix - she recommended Anita. She took the time to talk to me on the phone, AND she came to my house to meet Teddy. Ultimately, Anita helped me select Ellie, a border collie/rat terrier mix from Max's Hope. Great success!! Fast forward to two years later, when Teddy was healing from an orthopedic injury, I was recovering from the flu, and Ellie had decided to eat the furniture...I sent out an SOS to Anita. I could not have been more impressed by her response. She asked many questions, one of which was "what is your goal?" Without hesitation, I said, "I want peace in my household." So Ellie went to stay with Anita. A week later, Teddy and I were feeling better, and Ellie had also dramatically improved!!! More importantly, she was happier and less anxious. I highly recommend Anita and her training services. I constantly recommend her to family and friends that have pets (Anita is currently working with my Mom and her shelter rescue pup). The sooner you call her, the sooner you and your dog will be happier and calmer.

Anita is very responsive and truly cares for the animals she trains and boards. She was one of the few trainers that would take on my puppy for training. Despite doubts some people have about training puppies, I think it has made a big difference in his behavior and helped to start providing structure and training at a younger age! I am fortunate enough to bring my puppy to work with me, and my coworkers often ask how he is so well trained/behaved at such a young age. I only board my puppy with Anita whenever I’m gone because I know he will truly be in a safe place with someone he knows and trusts, who cares for him and (added bonus!) reinforces his training. She also provided photos and videos of him during his board and train to show his behavior and progress (and because I missed him!). Her focus is not on flashy tricks but to instill behaviors for a calm dog for everyday life. Highly recommended!
