Third Coast Canine Academy

I have raised seven dogs of various breed, each with its strengths and weaknesses. I’ve sent some to trainers to learn certain skills or to manage certain behaviors. Never have I had such success as I have found working with Lauren Richards and Third Coast Canine Academy! Lauren’s approach is to first carefully get to know the dog AND THE OWNER. She carefully took time to ascertain my expectations and goals for the training. After the first couple of lessons I came to realize that a big part of my dogs’ problem was ME. Over the next several lessons I am certain I learned much, much more than my dog (and my dog learned a lot!!). Lauren was as gentle and patient with me as she taught me how to train my dog. It was easy to see that consistent application of her training method was the quickest and easiest way to achieve our goals. I cannot say that I will ever have a “perfect” dog, but I credit Lauren with helping us to get pretty doggone close! Pun intended! ;)

I highly recommend Third Coast Canine! Lauren made a huge difference with our 3 year-old Cavapoo, Birdy. Birdy had struggled with interactions with dogs, cars and sometimes people. We would avoid these situations on our daily walks because Birdy would get out of control. After 3 weeks with Lauren, my family was shocked at the difference in Birdy’s behavior. Birdy is able to walk with other dogs, doesn’t chase after cars or people. Truly incredible! Lauren also trained us on how to work with Birdy at home. We are Third Coast Canine fans forever!
