Thunder Ridge Kennels

First of all want to say, Leonard is a very nice honest man! We haven’t had a bad personal experience with him at all! We used his kennel over the summer for a couple days and everything was seemingly fine. Over the holidays we boarded our 2 dogs with him for a long time, 10 days. Over the course of the stay one of our dogs developed loose/bloody stools. They started giving him a medication without ever once calling or consulting us. They returned our dogs food with 6 bags left of the dogs food who was having loose stools. When we picked up, Leonard was hunting and the man we dealt with said “he was having loose stool, so we started him on this it’s like pepto for dogs, and they were in separate kennels because we didn’t want to clean it up off both dogs.” We were assured they would share a kennel. Nobody told us about bloody stool until we called to check in about why we had so much leftover food and why we weren’t consulted about the medication before it was given to our dogs. He lost 6 lbs in 10 days (10% of his body weight) which I know dogs get nervous away from home but to me this is excessive. I’ve attached photos of him right before going and after coming home from the kennel. This review is 2 stars because I do think Leonard runs an okay kennel and does care about the dogs. I am very dissatisfied in the lack of communication regarding our dogs health while we were out of state regarding his stools, the fact that we were assured our dogs would be together which would’ve helped with any anxiety and the fact that I don’t know if he was fed.
