TLC Canine Coaching

My dog (little Chihuahua) Raisin and I join a group basic obedience class with Tonya at K9 Lifeline. It was a 5 week course once a week. It was good sized class regardless Tonya took her time answering any questions I had. Things I thought were little Rays personality were things I could train out of her. I could never get her to sit on hard floors - now she will! Learning the strength of a firm "No" was incredibly useful. I am someone in the dog world but I still learned lots from this class. Changes her for the good. 10/10 would recommend join K9's next class with Tonya!!

Tonya is truly the best! We have learned SO much from her—not just about dog training, but about understanding dog behavior and becoming better, more confident dog owners ourselves. She has completely changed the way we communicate with and understand our dogs. Sending our dogs to Tonya for boot camp training was honestly one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. The difference in their behavior has been incredible, and we are so grateful to have happy, well-behaved dogs that we can enjoy even more. Tonya at TLC Canine is absolutely amazing!! We have been using her for both boarding and training for 6 years now, and she is the only person I trust with my Cane Corso. It is rare to find someone who truly understands and handles large guardian breeds correctly. She is knowledgeable, dependable, and gives me complete peace of mind whenever my dog is with her. If you want the absolute best care and training, look no further!

I have only great things to say about TLC canine coaching. I spoke to the trainer Tonya when we knew we were going to get a dog. We wanted to select a really good program for training our adorable, yet goofy, Bernedoodle Sunny. I looked at multiple training programs in Utah county and Salt Lake county and settled on TLC. One of the main factors was that she would do an intensive Board & Train for 2 weeks while she was a puppy, then 2 weeks at 8 months. But I also had two friends that had trained their dogs here and were happy with the result. Sunny did very well and came back as an obedient, happy & confident dog. I love that! We then needed to be “trained.” Tonya’s concepts are simple and easy to implement. She explains the canine psychology behind what she does. I was a little worried about using a shock collar, and she helped dispel those myths. We now walk her twice daily and most of the time she is “off leash,” which allows her to explore, sniff and play around safely. She hikes with us weekly and is a good trail dog. We can tell her to sit from 30 feet away and she will hold it there until we change the command. We have an 8 month old grandson now, and because we have firm commands with Sunny, she has learned how to be gentle and soft with him. Tonya is firm yet kind with her dogs and mine. You can tell she has a great love for animals. She also raises French bulldogs and Cane Corso Mastiffs. Her Cane Corso’s are huge, but are the sweetest dogs because they have been trained so well. We have since had Tonya watch Sunny while we are on vacation. I know that Sunny will always have a great time and her training will not slip while she is there. When we pull up to drop her off, she is so psyched to be there. Cannot recommend TLC training enough… a dog is a big commitment, and can result in a great relationship and happy one when well trained.
