Top Paw K9 Academy

I recently sent my dog (F/2.5yrs) to TopPaw for a month for their behavioral modification. She's a rescue, and has horrible anxiety (to the point where she would vomit when it got too bad), reactivity, inability to focus/hyperarousal, and food aggression towards other animals (not people). I went in once a week during the 4 four weeks to train with her and better understand what exercises/training they were doing with her, and learn why they were important and effective. Every question I asked was answered with an expertise I didn't even know existed in regard to canine behavior. These women know EVERYTHING about canine psychology and behavior, and explained it in a way that made sense to me. When she was sent home they emailed me a detailed schedule of training exercises which included explanations of how they worked and why they were important. I am able to call/Facebook Message any questions I have and they are always answered in a timely manner, and with the professionalism and expertise I have come to expect from this incredible facility. My Sasha has been home for almost a month, and I cannot believe the change in my fur baby. She only needs her anxiety meds on rare occasions now (vs. the 2x/day she was getting them), her food aggression is completely gone, her reactivity is getting better with the training they've provided, and her focus is 10x better. I can get her to focus for the things I want to teach her now, and she all around seems so much happier. I cannot thank TopPawK9 enough for the guidance and baseline that they provided for us. They established a foundation for training in her mind that we, as her family, can build on. Also the email that I received after the training was VERY long, BUT provided every bit of information I need to continue the progress they'd made with her. Read it! Use it as the awesome resource it is. It's invaluable. Thank you, ladies, from the bottom of my heart. You've not only educated me, but you've immensely improved the quality of life of my precious baby girl.

Run from this place. ZERO STARS!! I brought my Newfoundland puppies for the three-week board and train. I had red flags along the way, but Tiatiana is so convincing. I ended up pulling them out three days early. I did not get what I paid for. On top of that, Tiatiana told me multiple times they would help get my 140-pound Newfoundland in the car. But when I arrived and I pointed out to the only other so-called trainer "Kaz" that my dog hasn't been trained and why is she still jumping? Her reply is it takes time. Seriously? After being with them over two weeks? But let's not forget the video "Jen" posts about how easy it is to train a dog not to jump. Kaz gets upset and tells me the way I'm talking to her, she will not help me get my dogs in the car. The facility is in North Denver, busy street, if they cared for dogs, they would have let me in the back where the gate is where I could be safe. Instead I was left on a busy street by myself to manage my dogs with NO TRAINING! So be wise when selecting a facility. Don't go off of the training videos of Jen. Those are her own dogs. Look up certifications they have? Are Tiatiana and Kaz certified? Hmmm. Beware!! Oh, with all the good reviews, I wonder if they are real or you actually bought paid reviews. I've answered my own question. Since I can't seem to reply to the owner, I will edit my post. I never emailed five or six times a day to T. I have my texts. I never called that many times. I have the call log. As far as picking up my dogs, I PAID YOU TO DO IT. You didn't do it out of being courteous. I PAID YOU. Again, for over two weeks you did nothing with my dogs. I have three letters from trainers now. And yes, people should check on you and your so-calleld trainers. I will get the video, trust me. I was never threatening. I told Koz she did not train my dogs and she gets offended because she cannot handle the truth. Just beware. Do not go to this place. Again, I paid for them to pick up my dogs. I was never threatening when I got there. But I expect you to use any excuse you can for the repulsive endangerment of my dogs!! You knew Duke wouldn't get in the car, so I PAID FOR YOU TO PICK THEM UP. You sure didn't want to lose the $6200 I paid or the training!!! Again, deflect and so I was irate and irrational. Plus Koz said she was the only one there that day, but yet your car, Jen, was parked in the back. They left my dogs in an unsafe environment, no training, lying now to cover their tracks. People, check references, check the certifications. Again, run. They are only out for money, which will be determined at another time. Again, the only erratic behavior comes from the so-called trainers. And if I'm not allowed in the back, why did Tee offer me to park there? Again, let's get to the gist of it. No training at all. Jen wants to play CYA, which is fine. Bottom line, I did not get what I paid for! Check on who is actually training your dog if you decide to go there. Check if you can park in back? Check on certifications. Oh, and why on the website is her name Tiatiana? Your groomer said everyone calls her T. Again proof you are deflecting. And if that's so important to you, learn to spell my name :)

I can’t say enough good things about Jen and her team at Top Paw. Being a Marine Corps Veteran and a current first responder it was super important to me that my partner in crime (a Hungarian Mudi) Nori was set up for success to be a pup I can depend on after a day of physically and emotionally draining work. Jen trained Nori to a level that got her an AKC STAR Puppy certification and also her AKC Tricks certification (we dabble in tricks on the side, Nori loves it). Mudis are not a well known breed and they are very difficult to train but Jen had a program that was absolutely perfect for a working breed with high drive. Nori finished her TopPaw program with her personality very much intact (some dog trainers turn dogs into robots, not TopPaw), and a foundation of manners that make her the perfect partner. Additionally Jen Trained me as an owner to ensure I’m being the best owner I can possibly be for Nori and setting her up for success in our adventures together as a team. Top Paw is WORTH the money whether you are looking for a great companion, service animal, or a working dog Jen has the right program for your Pup!

I’m just amazed with the service but let me explain any question or concerns I have Jen has her team on it not only do I get video updates I full details on how my pup is doing for service dog training I’m living in Maine but I fly to Denver just for TopPawK9 prices are amazing and you have a payment plan you can utilize come on who can beat that all the knowledge I have picked up on from how to be prepared all the way to food facts just so extremely blessed and thankful for TopPawK9 true life savers!! If 10 stars was a choice it would be a 10/10 Oh and now they have grooming!!! Come on can’t beat it!! Thank you team TopPaw!!
