FirstBarkMara helped our bullmastiff to be good on a leash. At our house, she taught him the commands which would be helpful to our family and then taught us how to use them. Mara is extremely effective and I would highly recommend her.

Lease aggression, insistent barking at new people and generally not listening to any of our commands! Straight away Will was amazing with him and we now have the skills that Will taught us to not only understand the Right and Wrong way to train a dog but the gift of an obedient dog, who is happy, which makes us happy!! We adopted a rescue puppy at the beginning of the pandemic, she had some trauma issues when we first got her, but she warmed up to us quickly. Unfortunately due in part to the nature of the pandemic she was not able to be socialized, and only had the experience of strangers giving lots of space whenever we were out walking. Needless to say, now that things are returning to normal she would aggressively bark at people or other dogs and her cackles were up, when out on walks. She would also bark relentlessly whenever anyone new would come over. We ended up deciding we needed help, but a traditional puppy class was not going to work, and so we reached out to Traction Dog Training. Mara was quick to respond, and were very friendly and caring! We were able to get scheduled to start her at home training with Will within a week of making the call, and after she completed the 3 week course she is now a much calmer happy puppy when we are out in public. The training was clearly a positive experience for her and us, as she would get excited when she saw the trainer Will show up. Will is a wonderful trainer, and is truly an expert. He also has the ability to make you feel like you can also become an expert in dog training with your pet, we cannot recommend this service enough!
Will C. worked miracles with my rescued pit bull Rocky! My wife and I had been looking for a rescue for a while and were reluctant to do so in our smaller apartment complex. Within 6 weeks of working with Will C., we were able to host a gathering with our neighbors. Rocky is now the apartment complexes favorite dog.
We are so thankful for Mara! Expecting twins and having a wild barky dog is a tough combo. With her advice, and in just one week, we were able to quiet and calm Rocco so he’s ready to be a big brother. What a relief!
