Train in Love Dog Training

Kristin is definitely worth the money. My 2 year old lab/Akita mix was something else before her. Always jumping on people, getting into everything , wouldn’t listen to commands or pay attention when I tried to work with him ever since he was 6 weeks old. He was also a kennel screamer and would scream to be let out at 2/3 am almost every night just because he was bored and wanted to play. Kristin helped in many many ways to help calm him down and keep the house an unhostile environment with constantly being overwhelmed with his energy and behavior . Now we can walk through stores and him not get overly excited and distracted by people, he now just lays behind me when cooking dinner or doing house work, waits at the door until I say “okay” before coming in instead of just bursting through. He finally stopped waking everyone up at 3 am screaming and now waits until morning to get out and play. If you are looking for a good training I definitely recommend!!

We used Train In Love’s Board and train service for our two year-old Doodle, Birdie. We’d always had problems with her excitedly jumping all over guests, darting out any door the second it was open and running away, and tearing up trash, food containers, or anything else within reach the second she was in a room alone. Prior to Train In Love, we previously tried THREE obedience/training classes and TWO professional in-home trainers that would come to our house and train with the family. Nothing ever worked, nothing ever stuck, and the behavior always continued despite our family’s best attempt to use all the techniques we’d been taught. We were about to just give up and accept that we have a “bad dog”, when a friend told us she had success with Train In Love. Kristen listened to our issues/needs and suggested the three week board and train. With nothing else to lose at this point, we went for it—and we’re so happy we did! We got good communication/updates throughout the three weeks, which was wonderful. The real amazement came when we arrived to pick up our Birdie and get our first lesson in continuing the techniques. Birdie was, with no exaggeration, perfectly-behaved! Everything we loved about Birdie’s sweet personality was still there (if not magnified more) and all the problematic issues seemed non-existent. Kristen trained the whole family in new techniques and tools to continue to work with Birdie, and came to our house a week later to follow-up and help address any concerns (which, honestly, we had none.) Birdie now patiently waits for us to say she can go outside, stays next to us in the front yard/doesn’t run off, and greets guests nicely without ever jumping on them. One night, I realized I hadn’t latched Birdie’s kennel, and ran downstairs expecting to find knocked over trash and tore up furniture. Our little angel was just curled up sweetly on the floor, not a single thing out of place. Three months ago, that entire floor of the house would have been torn to shreds by that point. Needless to say, we couldn’t be happier. We have the dog we always hoped to, and Birdie seems a lot happier as well! Friends constantly comment on what a sweet dog she is now. Obviously, I highly recommend Train In Love, even if everything else you’ve tried has failed in the past. We simply could not be happier!

We love our dog again thanks to Kristin!! We have a six-year old Havanese- poodle mix whose behavior had gotten progressively worse in recent years. Our dog had become a tyrant, particularly with anyone coming to the door or when we were leaving the house for work/school in the morning. I was embarrassed to have guests over because the dog would bark incessantly! Kristin taught us so many strategies and techniques that we were able to use immediately, resulting in a calmer and more loving dog! She listened to what I was identifying as the problems and helped us work through each of them with patience and understanding. She also worked with my daughter to help carryover with the training and brought her dog to practice with our dog! Highly recommend Kristin!

You won’t find a better dog trainer anywhere!! Our German shepherd rescue had crippling anxiety , she would stay in bed all day afraid of the world and bark at the wind. Once we decided it was time for a professional, finding Kristin was a godsend. Within 2-3 sessions Kona was a part of the family, interacting with guests we had over, enjoying walks, and the barking had stopped completely. Learning the basics to more advanced training was so helpful and she was patient with us when we slacked off on our “homework”. Kristin understood our life is always crazy but she gave us the tools for success and helped get us a plan that would work. Our pups quality of life has changed tenfold, which has changed our lives too. Kristin was attentive to our needs, accommodating to everything we needed for success, and even after moving away she is always there when we have questions. You won’t find a better dog trainer !
