I have a nine month old German/Australian Shepard female who will refuse to get in to my truck due to previous car sick episodes. I want to take her with me when I go places. I’m very frustrated!! Any helpful advice would be appreciated!

Hi Sarah,
I would recommend talking with your vet about medication for car sickness. It can be helpful to rule out car sickness first before going the training route.

I am not a trainer, but my dog was the same. I got in the back with her and a treat. I sat there for 20 minutes with her without the car running. I got out with her, walked her around the car, then did it again. She is great now!

I love how intelligently the private training is structured (I trained with Tera, she is AMAZING!). We started with discussions and tips while my dog’s behavior was monitored, and we progressed to practicing training techniques, and then to actually applying them in appropriate situations. It wasn’t just directions, it was WHY we were doing this and how it would help. Everything is just miles above and beyond all the other trainings we tried!
I have seen so many positive changes in my dog. We’re both happier and less stressed, our lives have been changed for the better!

The Training Spot structures their classes in a way I hadn't seen before. It has been super helpful for my dog to learn to to calm down. We've only gone through the first series of classes and she already is getting better at calming down around people she would normally be all over. And Lauren is a wonderful trainer, fun and relatable which is a hard thing to come by sometimes in dog trainers.

Extremely unhappy with the training spot. We paid the fees and were on time for our appointment. We were supposed to fill out some paperwork beforehand which they were supposed to email to us. They emailed it to the wrong email account and even though we showed up very early to be able to fill it out they canceled our appointment and wanted us to reschedule our appointment. My wife and I both took off early from work and they would not work with us. Let me be very clear this was all their fault. Asked for a refund and we are not going back there. They offered no excuse. The blond woman was rude and I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Carmaleta does amazing work. I came in for help with behavioral issues for my boxer that I adopted about four months ago. She spent over an hour with us getting to know us, watching interactions, and giving insightful and helpful tips to correct behavior. I have only had one session so far and have already seen great benefit. I am looking forward to working with her in the future and feel very positive about outlook on the potential for my dog to socialize better with other dogs in the future.
