Traveling Dog Trainer

I appreciate your feedback of your training experience! Prior to our lesson when I read your notes I figured you likely only needed help in our initial lesson since leash walking was your only listed issue. Your little dog, Mia, did great in her leash walking lesson, she never had any incidents even when I turned the leash over to you after our initial few minutes of me walking her to ensure all was well. What I saw through the entire lesson was a chipper dog willing to walk on leash the entire time who showed only friendliness to me and her family. I had mentioned if there were to be a situation where there would be much excitement from Mia, such as a dog to greet, she should be clipped back to her harness, but her harness is not the best tool to teach the proper walking you wanted. <br><br>To my surprise, you seemed very eager to do even more training, and to potentially include your other much bigger dog in training. I left our lesson believing all was well. <br><br>This was our text exchange 5 days after the lesson:<br><br>Thursday 11:51 AM<br>Hi Lauren,<br>I just want to inform you that Mia was injured after our training this past Saturday. she developed a large lump on the side of her neck and was painful to the touch. I took her to the vet, and she said it looks like she has a hematoma. She injected a pain medication and sent us home with more pain medication for the next couple of days. I was also instructed to ice the area several times a day.<br>As of today, she still won't let me touch the area. Due to this traumatic experience, I do not think your training techniques are the right fit for us and will no longer need your services<br><br>Thursday 2:21 PM<br>Hi Alexandra,<br>I'm sorry to hear this has happened to Mia! I've never had a dog experience this, especially one who was walking as nicely as Mia was during our lesson. I remember we used all of your equipment on her, I hope it's fitting her correctly going forward.<br>Take care,<br>Lauren<br>Traveling Dog Trainer<br><br>I can’t imagine how a dog with this kind of an injury caused from leash walking would show absolutely no signs of soreness or distress as it was happening. Did she injure herself playing with your much larger dog and the leash walking exacerbated it? I have no idea. I am also not claiming it was the cause of your equipment, I am merely advising to be careful because it is your equipment we used. <br><br>I have trained hundreds of small dogs, many smaller than yours, and thankfully I have never experienced any injuries to them in training.
