Tree Frog Farm Dog Training

This rating is long overdue. We have had several private training sessions with Liz over the years. Years (and dogs) later, we still use and value her tips. She helped us refocus our leash reactive dog with simple adjustments, and she introduced training tools and fun, stimulating exercises to engage our deaf dog who had mobility issues. He LOVED the "game of cones." We highly, highly recommend her.

We attended a 7 week training at Tree Frog Farm in Yarmouth, Maine. The first week was for humans only. The class we attended was called Family Dog Training Class. Please note: there are very specific classes for very specific age group of puppies and they definitely enforce it. We had to take our puppy to the adult class because she was just a couple weeks over even though she was all puppy in her behaviors, because of this our puppy did not get the appropriate training that was really geared to her issues simply because she was a couple weeks over, this was very disappointing. The class we had to take covered just the basics. Make sure you register your puppy right at 7 or 8 weeks because then you could take both classes and get the full and complete dog training. The class cost us 250.00, each class is limited to 4 dogs. The trainer was excellent though, even coming to our home for a very reasonable price, which proved very helpful. We just wish we had more time to work on her behaviors that we are trying desperately to correct. We may call the trainer back and have her over. The trainer, Karen Casey was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and well versed in this field. I would definitely go and see her again. Karen has a great setup in a small barn like structure to host each class. She is very receptive to questions and demonstrating all the techniques until you get it right, most of time like Ceasar Milan says, " I train humans, not dogs" Make sure you always bring your expected supplies and make sure you do your homework, and lastly Always, Always have your dog on a leash and do not let them ever run loose or get away from you.
