Tri Canine Campus

review Tri canine campus has been a miracle for our Ivy. Ivy came to us at 4 months old after living in an outdoor kennel from a whoopsie breeding situation. she had no social skills and was very timid with us for weeks after we adopted her. she would hide most of the day and would pee when we would approach her. she eventually warmed up to us and is the most loving girl in the world to her family; but meeting new people was a whole different story. that fear turned into reactivity and aggression as time went on and it became nearly impossible for us to have people over, and walks/ public places were a huge challenge. We ended up mostly avoiding any triggers and it felt like no matter what we did trying to train her on our own nothing was helping. Tri canine campus has helped Ivy beyond words. Matt did our initial evaluation and Ivy put on a big show of barking, growling, and hiding under the chairs. Matt never once made me feel like a bad dog mom or looked at Ivy with anything but care and compassion. He said that she was just scared of the world and lacked confidence so she was trying to protect herself and assured me that they could help her. Since going through the one on one training with Matt and advancing to reactivity class with Matt and Mike, she has made leaps and bounds! Her overall demeanor has improved so much. Not only is she a LOT less reactive to her usual triggers, she also seems overall happier. She has gotten so much better with seeing people when we go out on walks as well. When she used to growl and bark and have her hair sticking up like crazy, she can now remain calm and co exist with people in her eye shot. She has made so many improvements with us having people over to our house which is something i never thought would’ve been possible. She still barks when strangers enter the house but with the tools tri canine campus has provided us, we help her to adjust MUCH faster than before and she has even taken treats and allowed some pets from new people. The Ivy before would’ve never let that happen. Overall, having a reactive dog is a life long journey. But I cannot recommend Tri Canine Campus enough to help your dog and you learn the tools to have a better life!! Since starting the program Matt recommended for Ivy, they have taken her in and loved her like family. She now gets excited to go for daycare/day train and everyone always says how much they love her when we pick her up after. I could not have asked for better people to help us and we are so grateful for all of them

Tri Canine is a clean and friendly business. Mike (the owner) and staff are understanding and very helpful. We first went in for an assessment of our needs as a family. I appreciate that both the pup and parents are considered in what we all needed for a successful, happy home. The class size is small and the training was quite personal. We started with the "Obedience One" training. It was based in positive reinforcement and taught us how to handle our dog, in essence "parent training". It empowered us to hold control and build a stronger bond with our young german shepherd. If you are researching where to get your training; look no further. Tri Canine Campus is the place to be. We are looking forward to learning more as we move into "Obedience Two" training.
