We went through freshman and sophomore class first with Bobbi Jo. She is an amazing human and dog trainer. Then we went through the therapy dog program. It was a wonderful experience! K9 Angels Therapy Dog Program with Saundra is so much fun for you and your dog. You will meet a lot of great people, make new relationships, and get a great therapy dog in the end. Highly suggest if you’re looking for dog training or therapy dog certification to try K9 University.

Tri-State K9 University provides quality dog training programs. My dog and I were a team in the Therapy Dog Training program. It is a very demanding program, however, Saundra breaks it down into manageable bits. We were given the tools and instructions to succeed. Saundra is very kind and has a keen sense with her students. She seems to know when a little extra encouragement is needed. Without TSK9 Therapy Dog Training we wouldn’t be the team we are today. Today, we do weekly Hospice and Nursing Home visits as well as other centers such as college campuses, rescue missions and government offices.

Sharing our sort of mixed bag experience, in case other families are in similar situation. Tristate K9 was recommended to us after we adopted a second dog, and were having some behavior issues with her (tearing things up, jumping up on people) as well as some fighting with our older dog. We scheduled a 90-min private lesson, and I arrived a few minutes early. Bobbi Jo was with someone so I was told to wait. We waited and waited... 20 minutes into our 90 minute scheduled time, she was nowhere around. I decided this would have to be rescheduled and left, but she came out to my car asking why I was leaving. She did apologize but claimed this other woman was "having a meltdown." It was over a month before we got rescheduled, and we brought both dogs and our three younger kids with us. Like many reviewers said, she tried to sell us her $$$ collar system (with a lot of anti-China, conservative brand patriotism evident in her sales speech as well as decor and music - not our vibe and really wish religion & politics were not so prevalent in a business, but that's her perogative). We do use a vibrating collar on our wild dog but it's not painful -- and we rarely need to use it. We aren't opposed to these tools, just irritated to have our lesson time used up by sales. Bobbi Jo did help us with leads and being able to walk our dogs with more control. We did learn some tools, and it was overall beneficial, but as a whole, not as great an experience as we'd heard from others.
