We met Joanna and her pups at the Pirate Fest back in February and you could tell immediately that the dogs were well trained but a part of the family. We signed up for them to reach out for training sessions for our deaf mini Aussie, Pansy. Daisha was quick to follow up with us, she was very pleasant and helpful and we got a consultation scheduled. When Joanna and Justin came out to the house they were very knowledgeable and really connected with our pups. I explained that I needed some help with basic training since I never had a deaf dog and it was unfamiliar territory. We started out with sessions in the home and both Joanna and Justin were so helpful and were able to gradually help build confidence in Pansy. Things moved slowly because due to her deafness she was a little timid when being introduced to new things and she was really uncertain about what was expected. After 2 in home training sessions we decided we wanted to send Pansy to stay with Joanna for her 21 day training program. I had read that it can be detrimental to deaf dogs training to send them to someone else's home due to their sensitivity and how easily they can be frightened. However, from the beginning Joanna showed that she was gentle and understanding and would never put any dog in a spot where they would be uncomfortable. She took Pansy in and she worked very hard with her so when I got her back she was a changed dog. She still has her fun loving personality but she has built so much confidence in herself and us as well. Joanna made her feel like part of the family and I feel much better also knowing that if I ever needed to board her for any reason I have a place where she will feel safe. I cannot thank Joanna, Justin, and Daisha enough for all their help with Pansy, they went above and beyond and I am eternally grateful! I have a golden doodle that was totally out of control, he was so hyper I couldn't have any company. I tried to work with a precious trainer, no change. I called Joanna, she came and interviewed my dog, Happy. She explained what she could and couldn't do and has really exceeded every expectation. I now have an obedient dog that is pleasant to be around and this is all due to the training from Joanna and Justin. I couldn't recommend them more!
