Trouwe Hond K-9

Getting a puppy at the start of a pandemic was to say, at the very least, challenging. Everything I wanted to do with her and for her was gone. Even the basic taking her for a walk to socialize with other dogs wasn’t normal. Needless to say, Gem did not grow up the way I had initially planned. She barked at almost everything. I am not talking cute little puppy barks. I am talking scary angry mean dog barks. Gemma would get rev’d up, try to nip at people, and guard not just the house, but the entire neighborhood. Her presence alone would scare my nephews. Something had to be done. I could go on and on as to how much I love my Gem. I did an extreme amount of research on what type of person I was entrusting with Gem and that they were competent to do what I needed to be done. I kept getting the same name.... DAVID THE DOGMAN David had told me I have a fear-aggressive dominant female German Shepard and she would benefit with 2 weeks of camp. I was heart broken knowing I had to leave her and cried a bit some of the time she was away. When I came for my first session I wasn’t impressed and felt like I made the wrong decision. The second session came and I saw the light in Gemma’s eyes and we started to connect. The third session when I could take her home was fantastic! We connected the way I wanted to from day one. However, it was the day after where I saw David’s magic really come through. It was Mother’s Day. I stopped and looked at the entire family interacting with Gem. Her behavior was simply rad!!! My nephews were playing ball with her, she was getting belly rubs in the grass. There was no fear, only love and that’s all I ever wanted!!!! Thank you David! He has a gift with not only dogs, but a gift with training us ‘stupid hoomans!’

Sending our dog for two weeks of training (and then some practice with the collar for ourselves) made a huge difference. He has really responded well and whenever he slips up we are usually able to get him back on track quickly. He comes when called EVERY TIME. I have been taking him on walks in the woods off-leash (and am looking forward to going again this weekend)—before Trouwe Hond K-9 that would have been unthinkable. Thank you!!

I would recommend Dave to anyone struggling even slightly with their pup. I rescued a bulldog mix back in December and she had some obsessiveness towards other dogs and stubbornness very true to that bulldog breed. :) I found Dave and I am so thankful I brought her to him. He treats the dogs so well and she came back a new dog. I love that his views are training the dog but also training the owner. He has made my relationship with my dog 10x better and I am no longer frustrated walking her in the city!
