I can’t recommend TYCAL K9 enough. I dropped my Doberman Django off at 6 months old, and picked him up at 7.5 months completely transformed. Manuel did an incredible job with his off-leash obedience training. Django now listens with confidence, stays focused, and responds immediately even without a leash on. The level of obedience and control Manuel built into him is honestly impressive. What also stood out to me was how affordable the training was for the quality of work Manuel provides. I live in Hobbs, New Mexico, about 9 hours away from Houston, and it was still 100% worth it. That alone says a lot about the trust and confidence I had in TYCAL K9. From day one, Manuel was friendly, welcoming, professional, and made me feel completely safe leaving my dog with him. You can tell he genuinely cares about the dogs he works with and treats them like his own. Throughout the process, I always felt comfortable knowing Django was in good hands. Not only did Django come back obedient, but he also came back happy, confident, healthy, and more connected with me than before. Because of how great this experience was, I already plan on sending Django back once he gets a little older for protection training with Manuel. If you want real results from someone who truly knows what they’re doing, I highly recommend TYCAL K9 and Manuel. 10/10 experience.

I am extremely disappointed with this stay-and-train program. It was by far the most expensive dog training option I found, and unfortunately my dog came home with little to no improvement. Honestly, I could have taken him to a basic puppy class and gotten better results for a fraction of the cost. What makes this even more frustrating is that the program included follow-up support—specifically an in-home training session and an additional training session to ensure everything was going well. I never received either of those services. I called multiple times trying to schedule, and no one ever returned my calls. Additionally, when I came to pick my dog up, they had a shock collar for me, which they had me pay a additional $200.00 for, since I never heard from them again I don’t really know how to use it effectively with my dog. I have done my own research, but this is HIGHLY unprofessional. That level of poor communication is unacceptable, especially given how much I paid. When I entrusted them with my dog, I was very clear about my situation. I shared that I have PTSD from my military service and work as a first responder, and that having a well-behaved dog is important for me to feel confident taking him out in public. I put a lot of trust in this program, and they completely let me down. This experience was not only a financial disappointment but also a personal one. It has been almost a year now and never once have they reached out to see how my dog is doing or see if his training is going well at home- or deliver on the promise they made. I would not recommend this program to anyone looking for reliable, effective dog training or even basic customer support. I am a real client, and my dog Banjo did come to training with you, I’m sorry you don’t remember him. I am a single mom with two kids. I am a military veteran and a first responder who suffers from PTSD. The dog I had prior to Banjo went everywhere with me, and I asked for your help training Banjo so he too could go in public with me. This being the most expensive program I found, I truly thought Banjo would be trained exceptionally, but when we got home he could do little more than sit and walk on a leash without pulling. I did reach out multiple times after the program to schedule the follow-up sessions that were included, and I did not receive any response. If you’re confident that “there is no way” that happened, then I encourage you to review your records and communication history. Dismissing my experience as “false” or “fishy” instead of looking into the issue only reinforces the lack of professionalism I described. You mention lifetime follow-ups, but those services were never mentioned or made available to me despite my attempts to contact you. Being told something is offered and actually being able to access it are two very different things. I also left with a shock collar I was charged $200 for and was given little to no guidance on how to use it effectively, which is another part of the service that was not properly delivered. As for the timing of this review, I was told by co-workers and friends to ask for Banjo to be re-trained, or to ask for my money back. It was clear even to friends, family and colleagues that the training was not worth the price. Rather than doing either of those two things, I chose to write a review. I hope you have a great day.
