UberDog Training

I am the Adoption Coordinator for the Greater Charlotte SPCA and I always have several fosters in my home. Working with rescue dogs is incredibly rewarding, but it can certainly be a challenge as well. Rescue dogs are the greatest thing in the world, but they all come with a past, some of them more affected by it than others. Whenever a family adopts a dog from us and asks for a recommendation for a trainer, we always recommend Uberdog Training and we have never gotten a bad report. I also have 2 foster failures of my own (fosters that ended up staying with me). One of them was a very fearful hound whose reaction to my husband telling him to come was to roll over onto his back and start shaking. My husband had tried everything to gain his trust, but his past was too much to overcome. 3 in-home training sessions with Katrina was all it took. He will now come happily to my husband, tail wagging, when he is called. If we let him off leash, we are completely confident he won’t get startled and run off. The trust is there now. You can see it on his face and in that perpetually wagging tail. All we needed was some help from Uberdog to learn how to show him that we were his family now and there was nothing to be afraid of. He is a completely different dog now and he has a quality of life he never would have had without this training. I can only imagine what it would have been like for him to go the rest of his life as fearful as he was when he came to us. The Uberdog trainers have also been incredibly generous in helping the rescue and have provided training advice and donated their time to provide free training classes for our foster families to help them learn how to train their foster dogs to help make them more adoptable and less likely to be returned due to behavior issues in their new homes. I could not more highly recommend Uberdog training, especially for those rescue dogs that need a little extra help to get over their pasts.

Our fifth golden retriever and first male came from Seasons Gold breeders, and he is spectacular. We have trained all our previous golden without any help, but he proved to be quite a handful. I was astonished at how much difference the first in-home lesson made, not just during the lesson but every day thereafter. His progress with Uberdog has been remarkable, finishing the in-home segment in four sessions and following up with group lessons at the newly renovated facility.

After adopting Leroy (14 week old lab/ border collie) from Greater Charlotte SPCA I wanted to make sure that he would be happy with his new family and make sure he knew the way of the land and whats acceptable. After searching around GC SPCA told me about Uberdog Training and I contacted them to see what they were all about. After meeting Greg I was excited with their way of training and their love for dogs. They were able to walk me through the process of puppy training to advanced and finally group class. Leroy was able to really grow the most with group classes with a lot of support from Katrina. He is learning a lot from other dogs while allowing me to lead him. I forward to the classes that allow for Leroy and I to do some activities that will be continued in the future, like - hiking Crowders Mtn.

Sadie is a brand new dog! With 3 children, our door was accidently left open many times and Sadie would take that opportunity to roam the neighborhood every time. Now, after Uber Dog training, she respects when the door is left open and stays inside. She has learned manners with other dogs in group lessons and has impressed us with her social skills and has so much fun on group hikes and loves agility training! We are truly impressed with Greg and Katrina at UberDog and recommend UberDog training to everyone!

I had two crazy, extra large 2 year old dogs. They were totally out of control. After a recommendation from my Physical Therapist, I called Greg and Katrina. Katrina came to my house to demonstrate how my dogs learn, and could behave with training. I signed up immediately. Roscoe went to the jump start training in Katrian's home for ten days, Bear took in home lessons. I am amazed at how well behaved my dogs are in so short a period of time. I can take them with me on hikes, walks in town, even to pet friendly restaurants. UberDog Training has all kinds of fun events at least 3 times a week all over the Charlotte area. What I love about UberDog is the personal attention every dog and owner gets in the training and the events. Greg and Katrina are very kind and professional trainers. You can tell they love dogs and really enjoy what they do, which is making happy dogs and owners! I would highly recommend UberDog training. They have changed my two wild dogs into happy well behaved companions. Plus, it's so much fun!
